Does PD need a new Halo car?

If another Halo car is created, it should have the ability to not be gifted/traded. That way you can only earn one and not receive from a trade. One-off cars really.

I'd like to see this done to other hard earned cars like the Academy GT-R and such.

I've been duping the Carbon X1 on a daily basis on another forum (except for the F2007 taking over during the seasonal), and I'm at 98% completion, so I would soon get that "100% halo car," too. Then, I would duplicate it since it makes others happy and it doesn't affect my gameplay in the slightest. How would that make you feel?
 
What's up with the envy?. At this point the only good thing that could happen to this game is PD to give out all of the cars in the game to all the players, collecting all the cars in the game is just a PAIN IN THE @$$, now. NOT FUNNY.

I don't care about the stupid X2010, for me it's the LAST car I want to get from this game.

I was expecting new "SEASONAL EVENTS" for this week to get some more cars. I haven't played GT5 recently, thanks PD.

On another note, does anyone think the name change from X1 to X2010 suggests there will be an X2011?

Oh and on topic, I think the GT Citroen is a better Halo car than the X2010.

Remember GT3 and GT4 when you reached 100% completion?

In GT3, you were awarded the F094/S (a replica of the same car that Ayrton Senna was killed in). This easily was one of the best (if not, the best) cars in the whole game. Although you could also win the car in another way, it was still fairly difficult to acquire.

In GT4, you were awarded an all-black Formula GT. It was a one-of-a-kind color scheme for the car. Completely different from the standard colors. Now THAT was rare. And it completed the collection of all-black, special edition racers also found in the used dealership every 694-700 day cycle in the game.

Assuming of course, that something is done with GT5 in the near future, we could get something like a one-off X2010 (I know, lame and totally unoriginal) in a special color scheme for 100% completion, or something that sets it apart from the rest (it has to be unrelated performance-wise, to make it even a slight bit fair). Except that this particular X2010 you win is ID-tagged/locked to your PS3, and only your PS3. Kind of like the Chrome Line and Stealth cars from the special editions of the game. So no duping or trading is allowed with this car. That's your legit proof there that you've conquered GT5 👍

Good post and exactly my thought.

I think we will get new cars in near feature, like in GT5P. Maybe PD will add a car, which can only be obtained by doing things like "a-spec 24hr nürburgring" or 100% completion.
I hate fictional cars, so my choice would be a Ferrari F2004, the ultimate racing machine, the best F1 car of all time, the car Schumacher won his last championship with it. (Uhm, ok, then PD must allow us to use Ferrari F1 cars anywhere we want, so we can join a online race and show our F2004).
Another possibility would be a old Mercedes GP car, like the W196 or W125. Old cars with history, not really competitve anymore, but truly a must have for every purist out there.
Hm yes, If Pd manages to get Porsche they could secretly add a Porsche 917 too or something like that.

Yeah, I prefer such cars to those X2010.
 
How about the new Audi Le Mans car as a Halo car? It's lovely in black! Yeah and a Porsche 917k would be lovely too but I don't see PD getting the license...
 
ive noticed most of the people who have a gifted x2010 (all under lvl 30 i checked) cant actually control the thing anyway, so it doesnt bother me too much.
 
The Carbon X2010 is extremely rare online, and the ones I've seen are driven by pros who no doubt earned them.

I voted Yes though, basically because I want to see a car which can compare to the X1 (maybe a Ferrari or Mclaren)

That's already in carbon fibre in the form of the Stealth Car.
 
Yes X2011 Super Sport. With twice the HP and twice the cornering speed, because the old one just wasnt good enough...
 
In my opinion, the best Halo Car for GT is one, which fits to the rest of the carpool. In GT4, I loved the intro with the Ford GT LM Race Car in Gran Turismo-livery. It fit perfectly to the rest of the field, because it wasn´t completely out of dimension.

The X1 has no competetor in any sense. It is like you put in a Wipeout-racer into a realistic field of cars.

The Citröen Concept car was ok in my opinion, because concepts are part of GT since part 1.
 
X2011? The Red Bull needs a different car to challenge it. We've got 2 F1's to race each other, we need 2 'X' cars as well. Maybe Ferrari would be interested, or McLaren? Make them use differnent technologies though, to avoid them all looking the same. Perhaps the new model could use a turbine/cvt combination (like the red bull was originally thought to have). However I'd prefer to see more F1 cars first, especially classic ones. 6 wheel Tyrrel anyone?

Give us the Mclaren MP2-011

3000BHP, 6 tyres, a bigger fan floor sucker, with their constantly variable transmission, double the downforce, double the POWER.

And then in GT7 we can have the Ferrari FX2018, 6000bhp, an even bigger flan floor sucker, and a little italian man named mario to drive it.
 
Forza 3 had a really cool Halo car, even though Reach sucked, the car they made for it looked cool at least..... oh wait, yeah no when I got a X2010 in a trade, I just thought of how stupid this thing is and gave it to Bob to **** around with.
 
Simply put, if you don't have the challenge trophies... you shouldn't be able to use the X1, or better yet, carry it in your garage.
 
A new Halo car for GT6, but not for GT5. There's a lot of PD involvement in the X2010.
 
Instead of making a new one just bring back the Nike One, or bring back some of the older cars like the Model T
 
the whole 'Halo Car' idea seems stupid, in my opinion. Especially if it's a fictional car.

What? I thought the SLS was the halo car! It appears in the cover and it was highly showned in GT5 publicity. Like the Ford GT was in GT4, or the GTR R35 in GT5P, the Corvette ZR1 in GTPSP, the Castrol Toms Supra in GT3, the S2000 in GT2, and the... uhh... Nismo R33 road going in GT1?.

The X1 challenge was (before the nerf) pretty difficult as far as GT5 challenges go. If it wasn't for duping, the carbon X2010 would have been really really rare.
 
No thanks. To make another, it takes a lot of effort. The X2010 isn't real, but designed with real in mind. The aerodynamics are from Adrian Newey, one of the best aerodynamicists for Red Bull. The engine isn't unreal, Group C cars created 1,200+hp during qualifying, with today's tech it can be that high.

And that fan? Come back to me when you've seen a Chapparal 2J.

So it's a lot of effort to try and replicate a machine that is supposed to destroy barriers like that.
 
Halo car? Oh come on. Keep the cars real. It's Gran Turismo.
