Does the Magic V work with PS2 backup imports?

On all of the websites I have looked at they say that this modchip can play "Direct Boot Of PS2 Original Import CD And Dvds" and "Direct Boot Of PS2 Backups (Cds And Dvds)" but they do not say whether they can play PS2 backup imports.

Does anybody know if it can play only original imports, or if it can play backup imports too?

it'll run anything...except it won't work online with any dnas protected game - no chip does it so don't worry about that.
