This is a nice and helpful site. I've relied on it heavily for guidance as I've been playing through GT4. I do very much appreciate it. However, I find the atmosphere a little on the stiff side. It's not as loose as other sites I visit. When I join a site, I usually post a thread to survey what kind of responses I get. A test, if you will, just to get an idea of whether it's my kind of crowd or not.
For example:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=93548 . The results were interesting. Some were helpful, such as Famine who concerned himself with only providing the facts. Others chose to pick at my stated reluctance to play, or leave my PS2 running for very long lengths of time. Swift took my mathematics too literally.
I tried to take the conversation in a philosophical direction, questioning why short events were given the same percentage towards completion as the longer ones, but no one caught on. They basically stated the obvious that get 100% you need to do all of the events, regardless. I sent PMs to both Swift and Toronado to explain my position and to be sure there were no hard feelings. Swift responded, Toronado did not. No biggy.
I've been monitoring other threads as well. Other sites I visit usually "get" the gist of the topic right away. Here, the members seem a little quicker to nitpick. I'm not complaining, please don't get me wrong. I actually understand it all to a point. With so many members, crowd control has to be stepped up. I just wanted to pass on the observation, is all. Of course, I expect to be lambasted for conducting the test, but it's okay. It's just my way.
That said here's a big 👍 for the tireless efforts of Jordan and his Mod staff.
