kinda on-off sub...I won The acura RSX on GT3 twice while i had possesion of both i could change the wheels(weird because all the concepts say you cant change them)the i sold one and now i cant change the wheels on the other.......wahts with that

and thanks for the info on the ability to rewin cars you have sold the are rare

Actually you can actually buy some cars that are cr. --. I accidentally sold the Jay Leno Car. I used another save, won it again asn was able to buy it in. This is also true of some of the other cars as well provided you have two saves.

How can you reset the Mission Hall to win the cars again then (not that I have tried). Does it reset the group of missions if you try to do one again? If I'd known I need not have resorted to the second save on the Jay Leno car.

You won't need 2 or 3 of a car tuned differently because the game can save 3 different tuning settings for each car. That's right! Before you race go into the options screen and choose setting A, B, or C. I have one setting for the fast straight tracks and one for the windy tracks and one for drifting. It's great!

windy tracks?

Excellent topic and great question about GT4. I never sell a car unless I absolutely have to.
I want to answer a couple questions that pertain to GT3 since no one else answered them yet. I cant answer the GT4 question because I dont have the game yet.

I remember when I was starting out in GT3, while I was struggling to make some money and fix my first car, which was a Miata. Among the races I started winning, there was the FR Challenge, I think in Amateur Mode, and the prize car was the Toyota Trueno Shigeno Version (or something like that), which gave you 125,000 credits if sold. I went ahead and sold it, only to find out there was no way I could get the car again... I couldn't buy it and I couldn't win it, unless I restarted the whole game.
With a Sharkport you can get any car back including hidden cars. You can also us a GameShark.

I am not exactly certain why this happened but with the Sharkport and my wheel program you can put any wheels on any car. Even the cars that dont allow you to change wheels. Hope that helps.

Windy as in Wind up toy...

C.
What do you mean?? I thought wind wasn't included in the game??!!! Now I'm a bit confused
And in GT3 there were plenty of cars that had no price tags, does that mean that there are a lot of cars that are "valueless" in GT4

This is great, I made this thread before going to bed last night and now, I wake up and log on and I have 35 replies... and all of them with new and interesting tuff... he he Anyway,

i figure, with a 1000 car garage in GT4, i'm gonna have at least one of every car, i won't sell any prize cars unless i have 2 or more of them, and even then some cars are cool enough to warrent having 2 or even 3 of them tuned differently

Not that I mean to steal topics from other threads, but I'm feeling kinda lazy (remember, I just woke up), but there's a 1000-car-garage... meaning, I can save ONE THOUSAND cars on my memory card??? OK, I'm just excited about getting GT4 and I want to clear all doubts before sitting down in front of the TV, because even my wife knows I'll be "out of order" for anything else at least for a month.

Windy roads means someting like small country roads with lots of curves and very few straight parts..I think...my english isn't that good to translate it accurately.

Anyone mentioned simple fact of GT4:

- that when you sell a car, the game automatically saves - no matter have you got autosave on or off - and you can't load a previous save when you have particular car because it has been overwiritten? No? Nobody mentioned it? I did. That is very important issue in GT4.

And worth noticing that thet little featurette will also boost a memory card save too.

Anyone wondered why the heck are 2 memcars sold in GT4 MM Special Package? No? That is the answer right...:).

No, and I'm quite horrified by that idea... never again will I let my friends play on my memory card!! :scared: ... I'm not innocent myself either... I was 'helping' a mate with his GT3 and sold his Shigeno Trueno (I had already sold mine!)... he wasn't happy... had to buy a new memory card and start the game from scratch... he was very good about it though, he even let me buy it off him! (Cheers Tim!! :D)

But if the game automatically saves after you sell a car, you ought to be damn careful what you sell... especially for all those 'Win-only colour' cars or one-offs, of which I'm sure there are many examples...

I second that... don't ever want to make the Shigeno Trueno mistake again!

Thanks, I like "windy" roads, something like the Nuerenburgring perhaps??👍

Just to let you know, if you didnt. Windy is pronounced "Wine D" Not windy like with air blowing around.

I heard you can keep some licenses that you had gotten in GT4P and use it in GT4, but do you get the price cars ud normally get if you had just beat them in GT4 instead of GT4P?
No, You don't get the prize cars or the cars for getting a trophie for the individual license, once you passed them! No cars will transfer with the license and the transfer is totally not worth it because your stats will reflect that of a transfer and will have no lap times of your Prologue records to reflect your Trophy Stats!

Autosaving when you sell a car is really dangerous! Sometimes you want to much about and try something and may need some credits so you sell a car... but you'll want to reload and I'd be really pissed if my cars disappeared! Thanks for the heads up...

Oh, and it's WINDING roads, not windy. Windy means there's strong wind, winding means lots of twists and turns like a small country road. Damn people, at least the native english speakers should get it right... I'm swedish and know that much :)

The answer to your first question is simple.

Play a lot.
Doh! That doesn't answer my question, though.

How does GT4 dole out over 700 cars?
Do the cars rotate within each lottery?
Does each prize list have many times the number of GT3 cars that were designated for each win lottery, or what?

I know there are more GT4 races than in GT3, but not that many...

Cheers,

MasterGT

His comments were much more helpfull than all those "wind" references from other members...

if i was you, just make sure u have 2 of some of the cars u dont want to loose, u can buy the ones that have the --- --- ---- as price for 200,000 (on the chinese version) no matter what car it is, like the ford t, etc

Got a pic?

not on me, but i'll try to upload a pic tonight. Might not come out as a shifty paint in photo mode, but when it's rotating in my garage, it's "like Buttah"

It doesn't. There are many that you will have to buy if you want them unlocked in Arcade mode... Most of the JGTC cars, for example. Just abuse the Grand Valley endurance enough times in B Spec and you will have enough money to buy whatever you want. Unlike GT3, GT4 only has one prize car for a series. (though it may be different colors)

And might I add; OH WHAT A RELIEF IT IS!

There is one solution to the autosave....just pull out the mem-card until you are happy with youre 'changes' then plonk it back in, otherwise turn the console off and reload it with nothing lost. 👍

Native english speakers use slang quite often in their day to day conversations. You will hear 'wine-d' more often than you will here 'winding'. Especially american english speakers.

Here ya go: TVR Cerbera Speed 12 in Special Color Chameleon

Thanks! I wish the location had light green to dark green leaves; would've been a nice companion to the paint scheme of the Chameleon. =)

I remember the time when I was playing GT3.. I didn't get 100% on the win percentage because of the need to get the RIGHT CAR.. I'm glad that horror was gone for good for the 4th installment..

I've got a backup question on the same subject: Being that you can earn cars for either getting all golds in the license, or all silvers, or whatever, are any of these cars available later by race prize or purchase?

The point it, remember the GT90 in GT2? There was only one way to get it, and it was getting all golds on every single license test or something like that. Am I going to have to go through the same trouble to get all golds?

I'm good at racing, but I suck at licenses. I'm usually happy with a bronze metal, especially since even though the license test is supposed to make you drive almost perfectly, but then you play and the AI drive like hell. So, that's the question: are license-prize cars available later to buy or as a race prize?
