Double notifications for single comment

I've noticed this has been happening to me lately. Sometimes, and now quite frequently, I'll get 2 notifications for one comment that both link to that same comment. This has happened 3 times in the past twenty minutes. I notice it tends to happen when more activity is taking place in a given time frame.

Notice that GranTurismo916 commented on a post I made on his profile They are at the same time, yet both link to 1 comment that he made.
 
No, the frequency at which it happens with random members leads me to believe there is some kind of bug. His comment was an example, it's happened with multiple members at different times. Not just today, but even across the last month. It's getting progressively worse.

As far as I know, you can't delete them.

You can delete comments.

I'm not too sure though... I've never seen this.

It is most likely a bug. I'll be rolling out a software update in the next week or so which contains a lot of small fixes, so that may cover it.

I've occasionally received duplicate notifications, and not just for profile comments. I haven't noticed any common factor between them.

This. I originally thought that it may have been a deleted post but then this happens.
 
So is this bug going to be fixed or something ?

It still happens occasionally, and sometimes it actually stays there and gets in the way when I try to post something.
 
I think I know what is going on. I could be wrong, but I've noticed that I would get multiple notifications from the same person at the same time. I believe that the person makes the first comment, deletes it, then makes a second comment right after the first one.

That's impossible, since they link you to the same post. Also, I don't see how people can delete posts in threads.
 
But as he said, it links you to exactly the same post, at exactly the same time... no deleting there.

Yep for sure. I too thought that was going on until I noticed it linked to the same post.

I've seen it as well; it's just a bug and will likely be fixed in the next software update.

I've noticed this is still kind of there, but a bit different.

Now, instead of getting the two notifications at the same time, its a few minutes before you get the second one. This past time it took exactly 10 minutes. And yes, they both link to the same comment, which I have already replied to.
 
Well, there's been no change to any of the code, and the software update has not been pushed live yet.

I'll make an announcement in the site update log when these updates have been applied.
