Must have missed that one, oh well.
They already did with the GTHD concept...![]()
I didn't say there was. I said a wishlist for GT5Tell me where there is a thread asking what kind of cars that people want in GT5p? there isn't one other than this. As GT5 isn't out for a long time, then people creating a list of cars they would like in GT5p would possibly influence PD in making those chosen cars available for GT5p.
And they can get an idea of what we want from the wishlists in the GT5 section, not an identical thread in a different section.Afterall i'm sure PD read these forums to get an idea of what GT fans want. Do you want to be stuck with the same cars for another year or more?
Boo hoo.People started to post constructive answers to my original question, then the anti wishlist trolls come in and air their negativity. personaly, if I entered a thread that didn't really interest me, then I would go to another thread. I wouldn't post a snyde comment to the thread creator, but then some people just get a kick out of trying to put others down.
They already did with the GTHD concept...
I would be disappointed with PD and Sony if we had to pay additional fees for downloading content.
My main problem with DLC fees is this: many people bought GT5, which was $40 USD. GT5 proper will be at least $60 USD. Also, quite a few gamers bought the DFGT driving wheel, which Polyphony gets a share of the profits from.
Many of the GT players here, myself included, will have spent more than $100 USD on GT5-related content alone once we buy the full game. I might just be thrifty or selfish, but asking fans to pay additional fees for a game that many have already spent $100+ on is unreasonable. Yes, I am aware that no one was forced to buy Prologue or the DFGT, but personally, I would feel cheated if I were forced to pay more money to fully enjoy the game.
Looking at sales numbers for past GT games, GT5 is almost certainly going to sell very, very well. Because of this, and barring huge cost overruns, I can't see Polyphony having much of a cashflow problem once the full game is released.
If GT5 is delayed so Polyphony can finish developing it, no problem. But if they rush it's release and then charge gamers for content they hadn't finished yet, I will be sorely disappointed in them.
Reventón;3094528I didn't say there was. I said a wishlist for GT5would become identical to the wishlists for GT5, so what's the point? None.
And they can get an idea of what we want from the wishlists in the GT5 section, not an identical thread in a different section.
Boo hoo.
Don't start some fit just because folks are telling you the truth. I gave you fair warning at the beginning of this thread that it could be closed if you're asking for a list of cars people you want. You're the one spouting negativity by getting upset with folks.
And you're in no position to tell me when & where I can & can't post. I'm not having a fit. I simply could care less. All I said was that your thread could be closed if you asked for wish lists which is the truth. It's a real pitty that some GTP members are so up themselves, I was warned about them. Your in no position to warn anyone. I started this thread to be sociable, not to start a war of words. It's as clear and simple as this, if this thread doesn't interest you, then go elsewhere. Your the one who's having a fit by keep coming in and making sniping comments. If the thread is going to get closed, then no big deal. I react to people the same way they react to me. be a nice guy, you may like it.
Look, I'm as cheap as. . . well lets just say I'm really cheap. Even so, I understand that it takes a lot of time and effort to create new content, especially the quality of cars and tracks PD puts into the GT series. I don't expect them to work for free, they deserve to be paid. That being said, $2 for a car is ridiculous (EA I'm looking at you), but the fact remains if you want good, quality product, the laws of capitalism apply. I'm sure they arent planning on ripping us off but who here would be opposed to paying $5 for 10, 15, or even 20 new cars? I wouldn't.
That's just my opinion. If Polyphony released GT5 but charged money for only 10-20 new cars, I would be pretty peeved. I would much prefer that they take another month or two and finish those cars than rush the release.
It's a GT game, after all, and delays have happened and will happen again. I'm okay with that, but I don't want to pay extra cash just because Polyphony released the game before completely finishing it.
Reventón;3094553And you're in no position to tell me when & where I can & can't post. I'm not having a fit. I simply could care less. All I said was that your thread could be closed if you asked for wish lists which is the truth.
But,perhaps if you don't like my comment, don't read it....
Well we're talking about GT5in this thread, which came out a year ago. Releasing new cars for a game that is a year old and expecting them for free is just not logical.
I would pay $1 for a car.
$2 for a Lamborghini.
Why not? Owners of the Japanese version got a new track and new cars for free in March, when the spec II update was released, and that was only three months after GT5was first released. It has now been about three months since Prologue was released in North America and Europe, so why shouldn't we expect another free update?
I'm not saying that the big fall update will definitely be free, but it would make sense if it was. That way, online events wouldn't be limited to the cars/tracks that were already on the disc, because invariably some people would not download the update if it were not free.
Maybe the trade-off for free updates is that we'll have to pay for a lot of new GTTV content, like Top Gear episodes. I'd rather have the option of choosing not to pay for peripheral content than not paying for content that is central to the game; forcing me to pay to enjoy the game to its fullest is a no-no in my opinion.
In the fall update they are supposed to be adding damage, which would make sense to be made free. The spec II update was also the North American release, so the tracks and cars were technically sold to someone. If they were to add tracks and cars to the fall update, who is this being sold to? Someone has to pay for the extra work they did. It is a valid point that they are adding a PPV feature, and I hope as much as you do that the DLC was factored into the profits they make from GT-TV.
Looks like a lot of people here are either short on cash or tightarses, hehe!
I can't wait for downloadable content. I can't wait for an extra 10 cars, 20 cars, 50 cars. I want to own a piece of Gran Turismo that 5 year old kids can't own.
At the end of the day you choose what you spend your money on. If you want to argue about how much we're required to spend on the ULTIMATE Gran Turismo experience, let me break it down for you blokes.
50" Sony XD 1080p TV = $4000AU ($3000US)
1 Sony PlayStation3 console = $600AU ($400US)
1 Monster HDMI cable = $300AU ($200US)
1 DFGT Steering Wheel = $200AU ($150US)
1 Raceframe and Seat = $180AU ($135US)
1 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Game = $60AU ($40US)
Total Cost = Over $5300AU ($4000US)
"I'm too cheap to pay for DLC" = PRICELESS
If they do, there will be a public outcry about it. Customising your game in this way is not wanted and un-necessary. Yes, there are cars I dont like, but Id like to have them anyway, seeing as I paid for a full game in the first place (as in, buying GT5, not Prologue).
It also limits the events and means online events will be limited to cars that are on the disk, especially if the online games are client-hosted, as not everyone will buy the same cars or even buy any cars.
We will probably see more cars in free updates, but we will never have to pay for downloadable packs of them because of the issue of online play being seriously limited.

Expensive or not, ridiculous or not. Nobody forces anybody to buy downloadable cars/tracks, etc... . If they're available you can still choose to buy them or not.
If it's not worth buying, don't buy it. Others whom like DLC will be able to download it. It's like damage in GT5p. Some want it, some don't. It's simple, if there is a on/off damage button, everybody will be content. It's the same with DLC.
No, its not. You see, with GT, you tend to use all the cars and tracks, just like in shooting games, you tend to use all of the maps and guns. I'd only agree with you on DLC for music games, because music is very taste-orientated (as I have said before).
Its not a matter of if I want them or not, I want them all, they will all be worth buying because when is there ever a car that is not worth it in GT?
I highly doubt people will be content with say, 200 cars and then having 300 more that you have to pay extra for.
The only way I wouldnt mind is if they price it reasonably, like say, £3.50 for 30 cars and 5 tracks or something like that. Any more than £5 and I wont be able to buy it all, and hence why I will be very annoyed, because I can't enjoy the full game because Im not a rich bugger.
The thing is, this game is almost a year old and they are still making content for it. I understand not wanting to pay for additions to a game you already paid for, but you you really expect them to work for free? It's not like they made this stuff a while ago and are just releasing it, this is stuff they made well after the game was launched. They could very easily have released the game and said, "well, on to the next project," but they didn't, and I personally think they should be compensated for the extra work they are doing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not rich by any means, but there are a lot of people working on this game, and they have families too.
£3.50 for 30 cars and 5 tracks
Actually, Id rather have all the content on disk, not free updates or paid updates.
I agree they should be paid (of course I do! I damn well would when i get the job!), but not at the rediculous prices that most DLC gets, especially if its highly successful (which it will be, more than likely).
That is never going to happen, its going to take quite a while to make 30 cars and 5 tracks it would be at least £10 for all that.
