It must be somewhere on this forum, but I can't seem to find it.
Is it possible to have a lineup in the championship without the Jag?

On another note: Why is the Jag there?

I think the consensus is that the lineup changes a little from race to race, and that maybe 1 out of 10 do not have the Jag. (They may have patched it to always have the Jag.) I don't exactly remember a lineup without it. It sux that it so much better than all the other cars, so you can't have a multi-car battle for 1st.

Just ran it with my 905, no Jag. Best AI car was GT LM Spec II.

I started this thread back in July 2011 :D
Back then there was no seasonal Dream Car Championship and I meant the A-spec/B-spec championship.

I am aware of the fact that you can have a lineup without the Jag in seasonals, but so far I still haven't seen one in the A-spec races.

I regularly B-spec the career Dream Car Championship (866k with the X1 and UCD is refreshed) and have yet to see a series without the Jag.

I thought they added the jag in a patch to cut down on rubber banding?

I won this championship with a F430 Scuderia recently, no XJR-9 - good fun. No way I could have beat the XJR-9. You shouldn't need to restart it more than 5 or 6 times to get an XJR-9-free lineup. It's not complicated.

And if you're using a 905 or similar LMP- like car, you should probably make sure the XJR-9 is in the lineup or you'll bully the other GT cars like a pro boxer against elementary school students.

I thought it was a Group C but couldn't be bothered to make sure. Doesn't make much difference as the game lumps them and other similar classes together and most players don't seem to know or care which is which or what the differences are. Makes no difference to the point that any car that is faster than the cars which resemble GT1s(which has several different different definitions and many of the "GT1-like" cars aren't technically in the same class(or any class) anyway) will absolutely walk away with these races against any of the other entrants besides the XJR-9. There are no other AI cars that even come close. If it doesn't look vaguely like a street car, it's too fast for them.

I used the 905 as the example since someone else mentioned it. I said "-like" since most race cars in similar classes in GT5 tend to be of slightly different ages and specs. I should have said "Group C-like" but I think more people refer to those classes collectively as LMP's.

Yes, it was the A spec Dream Car Champ that I did, with no Jag. And yes, it was a bit overkill. Although it was nice not having the uber-fast traffic on the ring. Helped me put down my best Group C time to date.

Really? Not the seasonals one?

Won the Seasonal with a Chevy Nascar with no aids @ all :D

I've found the XJR-9 to be in the championship roughly 7 out of every 10 times I reloaded it. It's common but not that hard to get rid of. Of course you'd know that if you read my first post or tried it for yourself a couple times. Gthead01's post seems pretty clear as well("Yes, it was the A-spec Dream Car Champ").

Just load it, look for the XJR-9, if it's there, go check the UCD, then reload it. It won't be there soon enough. You can scan for it in just a second or two, as there is rarely if ever another purple car. The XJ220 is irrelevant(so don't just look for Jaguars like I did the first couple of times :) ).

There is no other real rabbit-car as far as I know. The Zonda is fastest but it's not even close to a prototype, and the Ford GTs can give it trouble enough to steal a couple wins or hold it up for you.

I think the CPU line-up depends on how many HP or PP you bring to the track.
Today I brought a Ferrari SP1 fully tuned to Spa and the CPU best was a Zonda LM and I beat it easily... I will try to bring that car again and see whether the XJR-9 will show.

You can easily back in and out of the set lineups to find one without a Jag. Besides which, it's easy to beat anyway. I did the seasonal in a CT230R, with three of the races coming with a Jag. You shouldn't find a problem in A-Spec with anything that'll do the seasonal.

The reason it appears is because technically, it is an 'LM' Race Car, much like everything else in the race, therefore making it legal by name among the AI racers.

As this thread had almost NO replies when I started it and now has a lot of replies after the seasonal got introduced you can't blame me for being a bit sceptical about the nature of the sudden replies. No need to get angry, I just wanted to be sure.
But thank you for being as clear as one can ever be :D

Al car's in Dream car championship have LM in their name and Jag also have it. So I think that is reason why we have this car in DC championsihp. But you can restart championship several times and you will get DC championship without him :)

Dream Car Championship is my go-to B-Spec grinding event. Which mean Bob drives an X1 a lot.

Doesn't seem to make any difference.

Dream Car Championship is the reason we require "real time AI" and a multi class car system :)
