I took the idea from the Dream Grand Prix thread, but where would you guys like to have a dream enduracnce 6 hr, 12 hr, and 24 hr races?
I would personally like Zandvoort, and mostly Monaco again! Like the old Sports Car World Championship!

6 hour race minimum.
 
I would go for 24 hours at Le Mans, its honestly the best race on earth at the moment, some of the ALMS races are great too, if only more manufacture teams would do the whole season not just the ILMC rounds.
 
I've thought about a 24 hour race in the area around my hometown. Most of the tracks I've designed would be unrealistically long, usually more than 25 miles, but I made one today I really like, and could be shortened by 10+ miles. There would be a Roval built where the beginning of the track is:

24 Hours of Moshannon Valley Track

The roads would obviously need major upgrades, the widest are only two lane state roads and most parts are narrower.

If the Grand Valley Speedway existed in real life that'd be an instant 24 hour for me. And anything would be allowed.
 
I agree with ya. I'd say the 6 Hours of Monaco. A true test of how a driver does during the race.

That would be cool! Bring back the sports car era of the 1950's! :D
 
Those towns would need to erect a lot of safety barriers, and with the buildings that close, I think the LMP drivers of today wouldn't be too enthusiastic of racing down those narrow streets at the speeds they are capable.

It's a really cool idea though.👍
 
Yeah I agree with that. BUT THEY NEED TO GO BACK TO MONACO

Or a 24 hours of Spa, with the old layout would be epic, albeit with some modifications to the track to make it safer :)
 
That's what thought! Not just only the GT cars there! Both sap and Nurb. Except they di have the 1000 I'm of spa. 24 hour would be better with LMP, and the LMP's haven't raced at Nurb fro 5 or 6 years now
 
LMPs haven't raced at the Nurb Nordschliefe because it's too dangerous for cars that can reach the speeds they're capable of....it's the reason F1 hasn't been there for a long long time.

I wouldn't be so keen on that, as it would be insanely processional. And it wouldn't really be ideal to guarantee a show. You only ever see a car for a corner or two, maybe more. And maybe three seconds, if you are lucky enough.

Isle of Man would be quite interesting, but the road course itself isn't really suitable for those type of cars, maybe more for sportscars. Although considering how small the bikes make the road look at their speeds (200+) I guess it wouldn't really be the best idea in the world....

Currently, I am struggling to think of a track!
 
Circuit of the World. North pole to south pole then back to North pole. One lap.

Some track building work will be necessary.

They did have a 24 Hours of Spa, they still do. 1000km of Spa existed as well. But they use sports cars, not Prototupe race cars, (last year an Audi R8 LMS won, so typically it's GT3/LMGT1/ upgraded supercars that win/they use.

24H of Nurburgring with LMPs would be too dangerous, it's hard enough with road cars. See this video for a 911 driving in 2011 24H Nurburgring. ;)

LMPs never raced at the Nurburgring, except the 1000km of Nurburgring held each year on the GP/F circuit, but that's safe.

The lap record for the Nordschleife was set in 1983 by a Group C Porsche 956 (6:11, average speed of 120mph), so I assume it's a safe bet that Group C left not long after, (for safety reasons).

Stefan Bellof holds the record. He was killed battling for the lead with Jacky Ickx goimg through Eau Rouge at Spa. Do the LMP's still run the 1000 KM at the Nurburgring GP/F Circuit?
 
Houston would be cool, looks like a nice layout you made, how do I do that?

That's what I said. The 24H Nurburgring (using road/race cars) has always been on the full course, whereas the 1000KM Nurburgring (using LMPs) has used the GP course since 1984.

However I wasn't aware that they stopped the use of LMPs on Nurburgring. Maybe it's WEC and not ALMS? Or did they stop it completely?
 
I haven't heard them do it for a while. It was the Le Mans series that did it before

I'd love a modern endurance race at local track Dundrod, which hosted the Tourist Trophy round of the World Sportscar Championship from 1950 - 1955 and continues to host the Ulster Grand Prix bike race each year. I'm sure it would be impossible though without changing the track beyond recognition, seeing as it really is just made up of a few country roads!
