I noe there is a HANDFULL of ppl here that is VERY intrested in this sport. I wanna do a Initial D battle by challenging some1 in time and the same track DRIFT Style! Neone wanna do this?

We're having a small video drift battle on Midfield . Go and sign up

midfield is a high speed circuit. wouldnt fit drifting well imo. I think grand valley would work well.

Also, i dont know if this challenge would work. Because drifting is slower than real racing, you cant compare times. one person might not drift one corner and would then get a slightly lower lap time than others.

Initial d isnt like real life, or gt3 for that matter. it looks cool, but if you want to compare lap times, its useless.

I would like to see a drif comp. Not fast times drifting, just cool or neat looking ones....

apricot hill is a good place to start, got just about everything
...and for the truely mad R5wet
car of choice for me: S13 Silvia
have got replays of most tracks if anyone wants to see em
post here
most of them are pretty clean and show some pretty cool drift
cheers all

for true drifting brilliance you need normal tyres and a circuit with lots of double apex corners that can be taken in one long slide. Try going thru the first corner on Apricot Hill in a medium powered 4x4 rally special, like my fave EVO 6 TME in Red with Stripe, and take both corners as one long corner. Use the initial slide to scrubb off speed. Believe, this looks s**t HOT if you do it right and is one of my favourite corners in the game.

Also, whack up the active yaw control for more lary sideways thrills.

A possible solution to the Race times being the deciding factor on the winner, maybe you should set certain turns to do certain types of drifts and see who can do them in the least amount of time, or the best style wise. judge countersteering, how sideways one gets, little tricks drifters use to sey them apart such as a 360 in a ZZII into a double turn drift.

what you should do about the time problem is the autocross solution, make it so that you win by arriving at a set time losing points for either being too fast or too slow

This is a great topic but there should be two different categories STYLE&TIMED so that ppl who drift for fun can drift and ppl who do it for lap times can do it:D

STYLE comp.: a certain set of curves and whoever makes it look the best wins.EXTRA POINTS for little extra tricks in it

TIMED: HAV"NT thought of it

i actually dont think they do that 360 for fun they juz kinda lose control and it lands right and they keep goin making it look like they did on purpose

also make it high powered cars like over 750 hp like the opel team... whatever not the calabra(sp???) the other one i think its hard to keep it sideways when your back tires keep spinning through a nother gear thats where i spin its like perferct for 1st gear and the very start of 2nd then it goes faster and around i go cuz i noticed on that one drifting music video he used weak cars the strongest was a 787b tuned or not not sure
