Are the old ppl from the gt3 forum still around? I was thinking there would be more traffic but it seems kinda slow. Any way to revitalize the forum?

People are probably DRIFTING IN GRAN TURISMO 4! :P
Its also possible alot of people just gave up on gran turismo 4 because its so damn difficult. I know i did for a couple days cause i thought the rebound spinout counter steer thing was unrealistic, as well as the inability to do a simple donut. Ive realized since the counter steering is more realistic than gt3 and I figure the developers just put the memory/cpu power or whatever it would take to calculate doing a donut and used it for more realistic physics which effect your car alot more often rather then the occasional/rare donut.

Kurt, they can't just 'take memory and cpu power' and 'put it into better physics'.

It was something to do with the coding, or maybe something to do with pivot points, but I have noticed how much more prevailant understeer is when using economy tires.

I guess you just can't man-handle the car with grip like that.

But yeah, I would suspect that the forums could have slowed down possibly due to:

a) The fact that GT4 is now released, so people are drifting/doing laps/drooling over the cars.

b) Some people were disappointed with it and now play it at their leisure instead of making a lifestyle out of it.

or

c) People posting less and more carefully with fear of potentially getting banned.

Myself fitting into the first and last catagories.

Kidding..

It does seem kinda slow ,but more and more people are returning such as me so.

Me and Street Fighter(slurp) are back.

Actually, it seems very active to me. I see an average of over 50 people viewing this forum. that's higher then the averages over at the height of the GT3 drifting forum last summer. So I think things are coming around.

Drifting in GT4 is still a complete mystery for some, so give it some time. Also remember PAL gamers just got their GT4, so I'm sure we'll see more or our European friends shortly.

Im always here...wait...*goes home and does HW*

Hmmmm, on that note I can't wait for a battle with some people.. and Midnits skills ^_^

1. I think it seems like it is slow because not everyone from the GT3 drift forum has picked up on drifting in GT4 yet because the physics are different so they aren't posting much YET. But give it time.

2. I also think it seems slow because some responses discourage people to make new threads for fear of getting attacked for asking a dumb question. It is understandable that we need to moderate this and control the amount of useless threads, but its ironic that a useless thread can get up to two pages of hits saying its useless but never really answering the persons questions.

I think we should welcome more questions and discussions because it keeps this forum alive. Questions, trends, style, history, tends to repeat itself, so for new members some discussion they have never been apart of, so naturally they would make a new thread for it. My opinion is, if it sparks interest, entertain it and not shoot it down and say its been discussed. Lets just keep the forum a place where we can come to and read and discuss drifting.

But give it time, PLUS the fact that the PAL version is still to come out. Unless its out already today?

Breaker: I agree that new threads keep the forum alive and that it's not cool to have 15 people shoot you down. But at the same time, we can't have 5 different threads asking for settings on the same page.

There's a happy medium and it's kinda tough to reach. But with everyone's help I think we can get there and make this a great place to learn, show off and just plain have fun talking about drifting in GT4.

Yes, I totally agree with what BreakerOhio says, along with others that posted above me.

I also think that not everyone has GT4 yet, especially in other parts of the world. As time progresses, I think there will be more active members in the forum that would participate in discussions and assistance. I did not join the community until I had the chance to buy the game a year after GT3 was released, so it will take some time for new members to appear.

haha Slurp, your avatar owns! 👍

anyways, I started to have a feeling of resemblance when I'm here, it feels like the old GT3 drifting boards again, which is active, with plenty of good videos and discussions (well, not really, but they'll come soon). :)

I REALLY don't know how to drift yet in GT4, it's just friggin hard:indiff: But offcourse I've already made some progress, and yeah I'm still here from GT3 drifting. I should be playing GT4 right, caus I've turned my PS2 on again, but just when I wanna look to the drift settings depot, I get distracted and post too much for just a one-look-at-the-drift-settings-depot, so I caught myself doing more drifting POSTING than actually drifting, AND NOW I'M GINNA DRIFT....Anyone that see's a post of me earlier than half an hour, knows that I got distracted again and SAY THAT I SHOULD DRIFT!!:sly: (this is meant more like a joke offcourse, not like an actual command or something)
