I'm 100% in favour of this idea. I think a team of settings reviewers numbering 5 or so would be appropriate. But we'd have to get a team demonstrating a vast array of tuning styles, drifting styles, and controllers. DFP settings do look just a bit different than DS2 settings to compensate for the pro's and cons of each controller. I dont care to debate that point in this thread though.
Now, I won't say that DR and I have identical tastes in car settings, but from another endeavour we're working on at IDM it looks like our setups are pretty similar. Having the two of us as sole reviewers may not give a great perspective on varying ways to set a car.
We'd also have to look at ways of determing what our specimen car will be.
1. Do we accept PM's for a given timeframe and put the most popular ones to a poll, and then do the winning car?
2. Do we open a suggestion thread every x-amount of time so members can see what other people have suggested so they can second an idea if they like it?
3. Do we take requested settings from the Drift Settings Depot?
4. Or do the reviewers just decide on their own, amongst themselves?
The first idea would likely be time consuming and troublesome to setup. You also have to hope for a decent amount of nominations and good voter turnout.
The second option is a good balance, and I personally think it's the best one I've presented. But it still relies on people putting in nominations.
The third idea would make my life in the settings depot easier

, but it only answers the plea of one member in particular (and odds are that the member has long since left GTP). This is not a good option... just forget it's even here.
The fourth idea totally keeps outsider input from entering the equation, so it may not be very helpful to forum members. But may be the easiest to pull off provided that the reviewers can come to consensus quickly.
Just the ramblings of a procrastinating engineering student who should be studying for his stress analysis quiz.
please add your thoughts.
edit - or, do we scrap the reviewing team idea and just make a thread for everyone to openly discuss and post settings and handling quirks of a topic car? ...we still need a way to determine what that car should be though.
