Drifting forum turning into stupidville.

Why is it when we get new members they never search, they never see the obvious stickies, theres like over 10 threads this week where some one has asked a question when they could have looked at the stickes which are marked at the top of the forum. I'm getting tired of this, this forum is turning into a noob fesitival(no offence to the new guys) but I mean people are asking stupid question's. I look at other gt3 forums and the new guys on thier have great post and ask good question's and seem to search before they ask. They aslo don't type in caps screaming HELP HELP HELP ME. I know you can't just go off and ban the guy's who use all caps but like we need to do something this is ridiculous.

Everybody,in all forums, does that at least a little when they're new. That's not the real issue - the real issue is what kind of attitude they cop after they get called on it once or twice. KF's doing well in that department so far.
 
What is baming. Is it like... BAM! You know, Emeril style?

Does your keyboard have any of the following keys: comma, period, shift?

But this forum has gone to hell. He kept asking me why I was leaving. I told him to just read what's become of the threads over in the Drifting Forum. He told me to just ignore the off topic and ignorant posts, but that becomes difficult when every other post is like that.

We DO need to do something about noobies totally trashing our Forum with off topic posts and useless threads.

I'm usually very accepting of newbies, but these recent posts are wearing out their welcome and they are quickly becoming annoying.


I'm going to stop now, but I'll leave saying that newbies will be newbies, but this is a new breed, I've never seen things like this, it's like, they totally ignore the fact that this is a DRIFTING thread and that there are OTHER threads that cover OTHER topics.

Dude. . .I don't know what to say, you just have to ignore some things. Sorry you feel that way, I know I have not been here long but I do know you do have some insite into drifting and you have given some valuable info to new drifters. Sad to see you go, but you feel how you feel.
 
well, if Dave puts it in that way. i agree, but lets try to encourage the noobes before they come onto this forum to use the stickes and search button and even the PM sys.

maybe before they register, make a BIG notice saying "read the stickies, if you make a dud thread you will be banned"?

Well then you should give the AUP a glance or two because it clearly states the tolerances regarding the proper use of grammar and puncuation. If you happen to not like it, no one is making you stay.

I know Bengee is pretty well swamped, and he's the Drifting Moderator. So should I make it a very serious point to moderate this forum as tight as needed?

I've always wanted this forum to become the most well known and respected one on the net, so I guess to do that, I need to step up.

Is anyone interested in helping me?

Is there any way to make it so a new GTP member wouldn't be able to create a new thread in the GT3 Drifting forum until they have 100 or so posts in other parts of the forum? That might help, if possible.


Either way, I definitely think this forum needs to be more seriously moderated. Bengee's outnumbered by all the new members joining. You should make Thio a moderator for this forum. He's proven that he's responsible by managing all the GTPDC's and challenges. 👍

I totally understand about people starting threads on the same thing over and over. and people asking dumb questions. But all new people aren't like that and to pigeon whole us into the "moron" section just isn't cool. Everyone was new here at one point or another and did some dumb stuff as well. Lets not forget that.

Besides, check my posts...I don't think I've done anything excessively retarted on here....:lol:

This is the reason why I've stopped posting here and moved on to the Rumble Strip and other sections of the forums other than Drift. This forum has become repetitive, and full of dumb questions.
