Exactly as lldantell says, gentle throttle and braking are essential. Once you get used to it though, you can control it, and you get to appreciate it's ridiculous acceleration. I find I can do poor laps with the One that are still faster than a clean lap with other hyper cars!
I beat One:1 drivers with FXXK and P1 GTR

Well done, but that doesn't surprise me. The One will always be capable of quicker laps but the FXXK and P1GTR are much more controllable and nearly as quick, and I would definitely choose them ahead of the One for Multiplayer, particularly if it's a few laps.

So... In a figurative tier list, the One:1 isn't the only "god-tier" vehicle as I originally thought, but it has to share a place with the FXX K and the P1 GTR.

I was going to compile a tier list for the cars, it was one of the ideas I had for 'giving back' to this great community. Recruiting the help of everyone of course. It could be a really useful resource. 👍

A tier list?

Brilliant!

I'd love to help.

I will give some more thought into how a good way of approaching it could be and then be sure to post back. Currently trying to sort out the TT Series for this year (and a few other things... ;)).

A good way to lay down this tier list would be testing each of the game's cars and bikes in a time trial in 3 tracks, and then a Drift/Skill event. Then, an "average placement" is drafted out, and in the final spreadsheet, we will see which are the best vehicles in each class.
Still, a tier list would be immensely useful in a game this competitive. The only other racing game I know about that has a reasonable competitive scene is Asphalt 8; even the Asphalt Wiki gives extremely comprehensive rundowns on each car in the game. I would have sticked much longer with that game if it wasn't for the dreadful in-game economy...

Although it's not going to be totally accurate, looking through the timetrial leaderboards for all the tracks will give you a good idea of where the cars rank in each class. It's tough tho because of the variety of tracks and then add in wet/dry to the mix!
Maybe you could have a top 5/top 10 in each class for tight twisty type circuits, flowing medium speed circuits and for high speed straight dominated tracks for both wet and dry conditions?

That car is very precision based. The throttle control and the steering input need to be smooth and careful because one mistake: game over. It is better for tracks like sentraland.

Thanks for the help with the One:1, guys.

With your help, I was able to get this time;

I tried to get into the Top 50, but it seemed as though I had reached my limit.

Read all the good things you wrote here about one:1 and decided to give it a try (never drove it except for the tour pack with it). After 4 laps on Bandipur I had 1:06 + a bit more, after that I changed to P1 GTR and after approximately 10 laps I still had 1,5 seconds more.

So... In a figurative tier list, the One:1 isn't the only "god-tier" vehicle as I originally thought, but it has to share a place with the FXX K and the P1 GTR.
Believe it or not there are a couple of tracks where the Renault twin run is the overall fastest car!!! Kobago and Los Pelambres I think.

Well, the Twin'Run has the best handling in the game, so I'm not surprised. I can't drive that car for 🤬 though, it's just way too twitchy for my tastes.

I don't understand the Twin Run. A car that has no business being in the class it is in, and it's far too twitchy for my liking. An interesting addtion to the game, but a bit overpowered to what I'd expect from it.

Not to mention that it's a flawed prototype in the sense that it has no windshield wipers, making it undrivable in the rain if cockpit-exclusivity applies. I do agree about the handling though. I think only the VUHL 05 is capable of outmanouvering it.

I don't have that many issues with the little twin run. I rather drive that then the x bow. I did see a post from Paul about supporting G29 and t500 on driveclub.

I've been doing some super and hyper class testing on Putre tonight (didn't write down my times for comparison so of no use for inclusion in any tier lists - which are probably better compiled by faster drivers than me anyway) and like I've noticed before many of the fastest cars in a class are really quite close in the times I'm able to set with them.

In the hyper class the One:1 was the fastest, but only 2-4 seconds (alright, that is a pretty big margin in racing, but it's a long track) ahead of the FXX K, P1 GTR, Rimac and the Huyara. The Venevo was a fair bit slower.

Among the six or seven super class cars I tested out now on Putre the Catherham SP/300R and the Bac Mono (lower top speed than the Caterham, but even faster around turns) took the lead, as I had expected. Can't remember how many seconds they were ahead of the closest tin top cars (AMG GT3 and Renault R.S.01).

Edit: Well the Twin Run is just stupid! Despite a measly down hill top speed of less than 240 kph on Putre, it was just 0.5 seconds slower than the Aventador. And 2 seconds behind the Vuhl 5 and 5.5 seconds behind the Bac Mono.
I would have expected the Twin Run to be ahead of the Aventador on a tight, twisty track with no long straights, but not door to door on such a long point to point track.

The twin run is faster on Putre than the lambo. I have #1 with both and the twin run is 2.5 seconds faster, and 5 seconds faster than my #1 Vuhl time. And is on par with the SP/300 R and the BAC Mono times.

I've only used the Twin Run a couple of times before so I probably didn't push it hard enough. That makes it even more of a stupid car :).

For those who bought DCBikes, is it enjoyable?

edit: damn double post :(
Personally I found it enjoyable enough to justify the price. As someone who you wouldn't describe as a 'bike fan'(Just see my constant moaning about Elite 22...) I see it as a great standalone DLC. It's a nice change of pace if you are getting exhausted by Driveclub's roster (if such a thing is possible.).

I'd say jump, for the career events alone. It's also more Driveclub, which is never a bad thing.

^ This.

In all honesty, though, @sems4arsenal, Driveclub Bikes is a great addition, even for one who isn't a huge bike fanatic (like me, and unlike my dad). The bikes may feel slightly weird at first, but it's just as fun as the main game.

My wallet does not like you both @nick98

I've just completed the AMG-Tour. It was fun after a while without playing this game ! I think the event was a bit more difficult than the previous "All-Star Tour" which was a joke...

Yet, I managed to get all gold stars on first attempt except for :
- 3 attempts for "Handcrafted by Racers" (AMG GT-S drift event)
- 5 attempts for "Silverlining" (SL65 AMG drift event in the night)
- 4 attempts for "One Man One Engine" (Time Trial event with the AMG GT3)

Also, it was a pleasure to see/drive the special SLS AMG Pre-Order Edition. As I haven't pre-ordered the game, I was a bit frustrated that it was the only car I could never manage to drive. Now it has been done ! I have the admit they did an amazing job on the carbon rendering ! It's stunning.

Come on DC, give us a real tough challenge ! :D

I love it and bought it on day one - still use the bikes almost as much as cars, although with the much larger variety of cars I imagine I will soon be back to those 80-90% of the time.

Pros:
+ Fun!
+ All the usual DC pros like sense of speed, sound, impeccable details on the bike models.

Cons:
- I use cockpit view in the cars and I'm faster that way than in 3rd person camera, and also enjoy it from an immersion perspective. The bikes are a total blast to drive in helmet cam but even after much practice I'm still seconds off my 3rd person camera times, meaning I have to use that much less immersive camera when I'm not just joyriding for the fun of it.
- While there are a couple of naked bikes now all the bikes are still ultra fast superbikes that don't feel nearly as different as cars of the same class do. Handling has also taken a further turn towards the arcadey, although the bikes certainly still feel very lively, particularly in 1st person.

I have been waiting for a lower price to buy DC Bikes so that's what I just did (9,99 euros).

Nevertheless, nothing happened. It seems like the PSN is currently biting the dust.
My game is in the download list on the PSN on my computer (it says DRIVECLUB™ BIKES - 07/01/2016) but it doesn't show up on my PS4.

I hope it didn't screw my purchase ! :irked:

DriveClub Bike is fun !

I was a bit scared because I already unlocked one KTM bike in the past by achieving the max KTM level and the feeling with the bike was quite strange.
Here, I did a few races and it feels almost natural. Already managed to achieve great times and to beat easily the AI.

I'm just a bit scared because I push my joystick so hard to balance the bike that I think my pad won't last long

Best bike experience you'll get on the current generation of consoles. Even though it's pure arcade, I've enjoyed and played it more than RIDE. In my opinion, it's the next best thing to Tourist Trophy.

Edit : Anyone would like to set up a lobby and trash around with the bikes?
