I wonder if/how Driveclub will continue to be supported now that the studio got closed.
Best of luck to all employees.
Oh crap!:

Turns out it was even worse.Wait, so is the new DLC being named 'Finish Line' indicative of the possibility that this is the last DLC package we'll receive?
Legitimately the stupidest decision I've read all year thus far.
What would actually compel them into closing the only studio with an acclaimed racing title on their platform? I'm having flashbacks to Activision and Bizarre Creations now.
Absolute stupidity.

Being acclaimed unfortunately doesn't mean returning investment.
You're absolutely right, but it sold more than 2 million copies and is, again, the only AAA racing game currently on the platform.
Apparently the life of the series falls in the hands of Sony and I have to be honest, I'm not exactly hopeful anymore.
According to Jamie Brayshaw Driveclub will continue to be supported by another PlayStation team.
It is sad to see Evo go though, their games were incredible.
That's a glimmering light of hope for this beautiful game... But the question is: who will take the reins?

If Sony is relocating them so to speak, then that's one thing. If they're not, I highly suspect (read: suspect and hope) Microsoft and/or Turn 10 are scrambling right now...
It sold more than 2 million copies after being heavily discounted. Their digital version was selling for 12 dollars not a year after.
And the game had near 3 years of development with 100+ employees (after Liverpool and BigBig merged with it).
It's really sad that AAA budgets are unsustainable if your game isn't a big hit out of the gate.
And even after their reduction to 50+ employees, the DLC were seemingly not enough to keep them floating.

I feel the piece I wrote about sales is all the more relevant now, but this is something else entirely. You don't advertise (and sell people on entirely) VR with a game from a studio on the verge on closing, and with employees doing the presentations to boot.
There has to be something we're missing.
Somebody said something about moving to Xbox One permanently. I confess I thought the same for a moment. Driveclub is destined to no have a sequel by Evo, The Last of Us 2 seems toooo far away with Naughy Dog going full throtlle on Uncharted 4, Killzone Shadow Fall was nothing like the old and gold Killzone games... And PD with GT sport still remains a huge interrogation mark. Not much reasons to stay with Sony. Maybe I'm thinking too much with my heart in the fresh heat of these bad news.
Why, Sony?

I'm still happy with PS4 + PC, There is not a single game or feature that I could care about on the Xbox. I'm actually more interested in the Wii U at the moment, the arrival of Pokken Tournament raised my attention towards Nintendo after a long time.Somebody said something about moving to Xbox One permanently. Edit: stupid question guys: what's the final cap for Driver Levels and Elite Leves in the game?
Edit 2: nick98 is the one who I've should've quoted.
