I'm still out about this game - I'll probably wait for all of the reviews to come out before I make my decision. And now that EB and Gamestop don't have their generous return policies anymore, it's even more risky to just buy a game simply on name branding.

At any rate, I've been very disappointed in Bizarre's work as of late. I LOVED the first Driver. I loathed Driver 2 for it's lofty physics and numerous bugs. I wasn't very happy with Stuntman either - loooooong load times which were compounded with inconsistently difficult missions (I mean loading after EVERY failed mission, c'mon now).

Let's see what Driv3r can deliver - I'm hoping for the best.

I think a big reason why Driver 2 was so slow was Playstation's deficiencies... I think it would have been a killer game on PS2...Which is why I think the physics and the graphic improvements in Driv3r are going to work much much better. I mean the console tech is better and i'm sure the devs have figured out how to keep things moving. From what i've seen so far i'm pretty impressed. I'm probably going to wait for the PC version anyway, but I'm betting that load times aren't going to be a worry in this one.

i'd be happy if it loads like Vice City; one relatively long load at the beginning then short ones thorughout the rest of the game

hey...just saw a post about a portable version of this game that's coming out with the console releases...anyone know what platform this is supposed to be on?? i haven't played any driving games on a GBA or the like...anyone know whether it's worth trying those out? Also...finally saw a car list on the website...looks like they plan to add more soon too...

more updates on tap this mornin

Some of those cars look like the ones from Stuntman...

no kidding! i've seen some of those screens awhile back...i think the newest ones i've seen on the website are actually much much better looking detail-wise...they've been updating it every week and i just saw pics of the Istanbul maps and stuff up today... i really can't wait to try and get that truck to fly even higher myself!...wonder if we can jump those things???

word!...hey is anyone else keeping up with the web film that's been made for the game? I'm waiting on the last installment...so far it's got some pretty cool scenes, but i kinda want to see the whole thing as one still...

is it based on the story of the game, or is it just some movie like the game??

The whole short is up now...it's a movie intro based on the story of the game...it's not super detailed, but it's a nice add-on to the game i think...like the BMW films from a few years ago...I suppose there could eventually be a full movie based on it if they decide to do it. Either way it's cool...

the whole thing was only like 6 minutes long if that rite???
it was just the girl saying we need the car, then he delivers it, then she says "you can work for me now"
if the game is gonna be like that then i'll like it becuase it's like one of my fav movies, gone in 60 seconds
i wish i knew how to boost cars :(

yeah...that's EXACTLY what i thought too!... it's totally like gone in 60 seconds...i'm hoping that a bunch of the missions in this game will involve jacking some really nice cars...i can't wait to play it .... the movie was really cool...(did you catch the matrix-y thing with the bullets crossing?)...pretty slick for a web film...anyway...it's probably a good thing that I don't have any skillz to jack cars...i'll just do that virtually

yah
that part was pretty cool :D
but it raises the question of how those 2 bullets would have hit him but the other entire clip missed???
then again it's just a movie

heh heh...yeah...quite a good movie...it's alot better all together i think...hope it's part of the game somehow...also i'm hoping the animations in the game follow the same line of cool scenes and what not...it's looking good so far... now that the movie is out i hope the next update includes some more game detail.

I'd be driving wherever I can if it were me. That's one thing I really hope about this game...the open maps. I hope they have driveable alley ways and other areas outside of just the standard roads and stuff...it would make it so much cooler, especially since the city models are so detailed.

I went in my local GAME store today and it was available for Pre order, so I slapped my order in straight away.

Can't wait for this game!

u sure? i thought it was pushed back till the 20th last i heard...maybe that's just a rumour though...i know that they said the PC version would be released after the console version and that's what I'm getting anyway so ...
