A few of you guys on the forums read my post about picking up 12 DFGT wheels. They were on sale at Sam's Club for 40 bucks last year. So I picked up everyone I could find. I even gave away a couple on Sony's GT forum.

I would like to do the same on GTPlanet. So many of you have asked if I could sell one. I have a better idea. I am going to give one away. I have not figured out all the details. But I want to do it. Gt needs a wheel.

So send me suggestions for a contest guys. Also I am having trouble getting good races online. My psn id is Kai_OS. Send request guys. I am currently level 25. I love to race stock cars. I mean tunes are great but I love to see how stock cars match up vs one another. I race Nurburg a lot. I will be updating this thread often. The official contest will be on this tread

Ok so here are the contest details. I have liked a few of the communities suggestions. So here goes.

Post a review of Gran Turismo 5 in this thread. There are no guidelines for the review. I will choose 10 of my favorites after reading through them all. The 10 finalist will all be assigned a car to gift to yours truly. Keep about a million credits available. Soemone posted this in the thread today. I love the idea. The top ten will also participate in a event in my Lounge. This event will be a 3 lap night time race on Nurburgring. I mean pitch black. The winner will be determined at the end of the race. The winner of the race will not necessarily be the winner of the contest. I will draw names at the end irst week throf the race. I will also be spectating the event. My camera will be rolling. I will leave this event open to everyone. Once again shipping is on me

The race is like a ceremony. A celebration of GT and cars. Good luck to everyone. Contest ends February 28, 2011. The race ceremony will be the following weekend. I will notify the 10 finalist a week prior to the ceremonial race. Remember I will assign all finalist a car to gift to yours truly. Gift must be recieved by Feb 28, 2011. I am going to start choosing finalist this weekend. I will notify all finalist via PM. I have also decided to give away a second DFGT wheel after this contest ends. I will post details this evening in this thread. Check back often.

I don't think racing will be a part of the giveaway. I also would like participants who don't have a wheel. That is my reason for doing the give away.

No suggestions on what to do as far as the give away, but I sure could use a wheel. Trying to modulate the gas/brake with a controller sucks. Definitely keeping an eye on this thread 👍

Or post a poll and have GTP.net vote on a winner. Announce the winner the day before xmas or something.

I don't know if you've ever shipped internationally, but if it were myself; I'd limit this to the lower 48.

Not in the competition, I have my goodies.
Currently using the DFGT and it is more then decent for driving.

I wouldn't mind having a chance to win one. Like somebody said, a picture competition would be cool or some kind of design competition? Just throwing idea's out.
 
How about a competition like a narative of why you like GT.Or what your favorite car on GT5 is ( or in real life) read them all and decide wich person gets the wheel. One other way to do it is a competion of why someone ( like myself) may deserve a wheel narrow it down to 5 people and randomly pick who it is. Just my two cents ready to try and win one since there is no way i can afford one anytime soon!

Or Kai, you take some mugshots of parts of cars, and people need to find out what car it is.
there is a thread like that somewhere here and Forza did it for one of their DLC's.
 
Is there anyway while online to setup a race that allows 6axis controllers only? Then you could have a best without a wheel comp?

Hi there Kai, nice of you to do something like this for the GT community :)

I would love to participate in any contest you can figure out. I would really love a wheel but since i injured my foot i havent been able to work which means no payday and no wheel for me :( As i said i'd love to join in on the contest!

I like the idea of a picture competition. Go for the most comedic in game GT5 pic. Choose 10 and do a random draw, or post a poll and let everyone here help decide.

It's very nice of you to make this offer. I don't need a wheel. I can't drive with that blasted controller. I had to get one.:)
 
I like the idea of comedic or WTF picture. If you try to go for realism, people could easily do some post processing in Photoshop and give them an unfair advantage.

This would be great, along with 1 still picture and 1 action picture of a car from GT5...

ps awesome opening pic for the thread.. so girl racers do exist. :crazy:
 
This sounds so great.. I've really been trying to justify splurging for a wheel even though I'm a independent college student. Good luck to all! :)

Also, I am studying for finals right now but as soon as I finish in 6 days, I will add you , but I'm pretty sure you'll burn me lol
