I got really lucky. Bought one that was originally bought at Fnac (madeira) on 16/11/2011 witch means it is almost brand new, Of course there is the risk associated with everything you buy online but I figured well, I will never buy it for a price above 200€ so I took a shot at it.
Thats great even if you have some sort of problem with it, you can send it to Logitech and you will have a brand new wheel... Logitech's customer service is by far the best of all the 3 major brands out there. (Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec)
Nice. Just read this thread about a half hour ago, already did the mod. Very easy, longest part was looking for my pliers,. Prior to this, I was using the bungie and now it feels as good if not better and the bungie is not in the way, thanks again for the find.
I also use the bungie mod and previously used the foam or sponge ball and from the two mods I would have to say that the bungie mod is the best... you can adjust tension and you dont get pieces of foam dirtying the inside of the pedals but it does look rather ugly... does this mod you did really feel as good as the bungie mod? and did you do it to just one spring or did you strech the black sprin also? and can you also mod the throtle?
