I recently saw foldable seat combinations on eBay-Germany. Around 200 EUR without steering wheel or pedals.

I'd seriously keep away from purchasing a GamePod from Ashdesign. I tried to order one a couple of months ago, and it never turned up. We got charged for it on our credit card though. There was no note left saying there was no one in to sign for it either. We tried contacting them numerous times by email and phone, but never any replies.

So in the end we had to write a letter to the credit card company explaining the situation and requesting the credited money be refunded. Which thankfully they did.

Just found this company from the link Little Wog posted...Vision Racer Think I might be purchasing one of those bad boys, they look awesome. Next thing to do - where's the price........?

hey i just purchased a hyperdrive racing system from havery norman (australia) for 189$ australian this contains a frame to mount the steering wheel and pedals with a bucket seat attached and it can have its length or steering wheel postiton adjusted. search for hyperdrive racing systems

Hey all!
Just found this web site and must say it's a killer one at that! 👍
For those looking to get some type of racing seat/cockpit, you might want to also give these two companies a look at:

1. BRD (Ball Racing Development) Race Frame Pro
Home page: (here)
UK based company with distributors in Belgium, Portugal, & the USA
Better Pic 1 found here
Better Pic 2 w/TV found here
Review here

2. Frex
NOTE: Company is based in Japan and has no current distributors!
Homepage is here
A. Pic 1
B. Pic 2
NOTE: All the parts you see in the above pics are compatible with the PS2 as well as the PC! :dopey:

As a side note, when looking for racing seat/cockpit, I think it's very important that whatever product you're in the market for offer the following benefits:
A. Seat is fully adjustable...not only forwards & backwards but also in tilt angle
B. Steering wheel mounting area is fully adjustable...meaning it should be adjustable in not just in height & proximity to the seat but rake angle of the mounting surface as well!

Remember to always research the numerous compeitoros, decide how much $$$$ you want to invest, carefully review how much time you'll spend racing & than make your decision! :-)

PS: If money is no option...and you've got about $12,000 to burn, check out the Virtual GT

...where's the price........?
You'll have to look hard to find it ..but once you do, you'll see that it says
"prices starting from just £399.99 (excluding steering wheel and pedals)"
You can see the info here

Hope this helps? :)

There is a big topic on this already, so give it a search. And while you're at it, I'd like to welcome you two to our "little half-crazed family," Stephen and Laura. Whether you are a married couple, brother and sister, friends, or whatever, welcome "Stephen and Laura."

The exact same happened to me, I ordered it, my card was charged, something like 3 weeks later I still had no gamepod, so I emailed them a couple of times, I got a reply saying they were missing some parts and waiting for stock.

A few weeks later still nothing I tried email again, as I wanted to cancel the order, no reply, there was no answer when I tried phoning too, eventually I got an email explaining that they were at a show, and that someone would be back in the office in a few days.

But I tried ringing a week later a few times still no answer, then they removed the phone number from their website. I sent numerous emails, and then was told that the guy in charge was ill, but that they would refund me. The refund never came through, in the end after about 5 months I got my refund from them.

However I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, as I believe Ash Design is run by one guy (which would explain the poor service at that time) and from looking around the net I know people that have had success buying gamepods through them.

I dare say Shure ordered his in the same timeframe as me, hence why we both had the same experience.

However I am going to order one again shortly over Ebay direct from them. I'll post back and let you know how it goes.

Look here: www.gamechopper.de

I´ve already postet a lot about the seat in this Forum !

Even if it looks kind of "cheap" it works great and some pals said that it looks stylish !

There won´t be something better for that prize !

Heard great things about the Gamechopper and have used one briefly, by far the best for the money, much cheaper than the competition too.

I was planning on getting one myself recently but money troubles got in the way so I'm stuck with my super ghetto setup.

I gotta have a bucket seat for the full feel :) , neither of those 2 do, the speedseat may very well work great, but it gets a 1 out of 10 on appearance, it looks awful.

Did you order off of their website or from Ebay or somewhere else?

It was direct from their website.

That is where I ordered my one from last year (the one that never came), I'v just ordered one off of Ebay now, it's new and direct from ash design, hoping I have better luck this time.

Also on a GT2 with wheel you save about £100 on ebay.

Really I should get one made myself, as I used to work as a welder/fabricator, but I dont have my own welding set here.

i find it harder to play with the wheel on ps2, i love wheel on my pc though. maybe because im sitting on the couch when playingon ps2

Same here, I used to love using my microsoft wheel on the PC, used to work real well clamped to the desk. Yet I also had wheels for the Playstation, N64 and PS2 but it sucked without having something to clamp onto, using them on your lap no matter what the design just doesnt do it for me.

Iv also just ordered that Driving Force Pro to go with the gamepod and GT4, funny though as iv not used my PS2 in ages, as Xbox has won me over.

But Forza is still nearly 2 months away, and I just can't wait that long.

That is such a shoddy service. I am really regretting going to ashdesign. I only have room in my room for a shelf, compared to whole shelf/seat setup, and I haven't really found any alternative to it. It doesn't take much effort to just reply to an email. And to take the money BEFORE actually having a product to ship, well that just isn't good enough. If you hear nothing at all, like me, then you think the company are just a scam. If I don't hear anything soon, I'll be contacting Watchdog!

I'll post here and let you know the results of my order, considering the ebay auction was started by them just 2 days ago, and 5 were available, It will be beyond a joke if they cant ship it in a reasonable timeframe.
Iv made payment as of yesterday and the item on ebay says it should be with me in a few days but to allow 7 - 10 days.

Ok thanks.

But why are they putting their products on Ebay when they haven't fulfilled my order? I've waited a month now. There's something so wrong with that.

This is the best setting for the best PS2 racing simulation game: :)

Exactly same position and dimensions like in a Miata cockpit (miata seat).
It cost me 50.00$ (the seat) asnd three hours of welding and cutting an pile of free tubes.

My cousin just got one from Fry's. $300 is kinda steep but I might be forced to get one. Not too bad compared to say buying a cabinet driving game.
