Driving Force Pro with (red) Momo Pedals

Slip Angle 415
I'm using the old, original DFP cable, for the blue plastic pots set-up, unit purchased December, 2003

My DFP cable end is a 7 pin male (not 9 pins like your schematic)

So maybe it is wired wrong!

Also not recognized in Logitech profiler (sees DFP wheel, not pedals)

Thanks Again

No, thats not the error.

I'm use a selfmade Cable, it is a duplicate to the DFP early version .

The original DFP Plug is a 9 Pin format, but the Pin's 1 and 5 are removed
If You check my schematic, the Pin's 1 and 5 are inexistent too !

To compare Yor connection to the schematic
if all accurate but the Pedals not work, please test Your DFP Wheel with original DFP Pedals .

Maybe the Wheel has a error !?

Edit:
I'm not sure but maybe you can to deactivate the Pedals in the Game !?
Start GT3 with connected Wheel and Pedals, try to calibrate thereafter check the Buttons-Setup for gas and Brake

This is a superb thread.

Moderators, is there a chance that it can moved to the main GT4 forum and stickied?

Do You use the cable from the old or the new Driving Force Pro Pedal-Unit ?
The old use blue plastic Potentiometers
The New use metall Potentiometers

As I've taken my pedals apart more than a few times - I now just realised I have the old model.. Is the new model DFP pedals better than the old ones ?...

Or should I just find a set of Momos instead ?...

Cheers,
Confused in Copenhagen....

I also want to ask if the new version of the driving force pro is better than the old,
and if the well known pedal issue has been fixed in the new version. im waiting for my DFP wheel right now so i am curious.
ps is there a sollution for the pedal problems.. can you change som parts in it to fix it?

You can connect the DFP wheel to the Momo Force pedals without any modification.
You have just to make a special cable (DB9 male connector - DB25 male connector) like that :

attachment.php

The pins #1 and #5 of the DB9 male connector must be broken.
To make the cable, simplest is to use a parallel printer cable, then cut it and connect it with a DB9 male connector.

Have done that. works fine! GREAT!

Only one problem - for few minutes works just fine. After that the brake pedal is pushed to ~10% all the time. It doesn't help, to push and release pedals, or even to put foot under brake pedal and lift it up. The only solution so far I've found is to disconnect pedals and reconnect them. After that it works fine for another few minutes. If I reconnect original DFP pedals everything works just fine. Any ideas???

Will try tomorrow and use my spare momo pedals set (I got from service one momo force wheel for free, because it had broken steering. I took buttons off it to replace my broken ones allready, but that second pedal set works just fine), as today I haven't got any more time or will to do that.

Here are some pics during my fabrication ...

I wonder if my brake trouble could be somehow connected to brake trouble that some other people had with original DFP and pedals. Because my original pedals on DFP didn't cause me ANY trouble ...

EDIT: have read again through top posts and see that VV's friends have had same trouble. Any solutions yet?

LOL!
10% brake pedal on is how the whole problem begins.
First for me was the test with the 190E Evo @ the Ring, couldn't catch the Skyline uphill.
BTW I still can't get the Momo pedals to work with the DFP

Thanks to Werner for getting this thread going, and thanks to VV for the diagram. Both my dad and I have used the MOMO for a few years, and they still works flawlessly to this day. Unfortunately though, GT4 doesn't support the MOMO.

Upon getting my DFP in anticipation for GT4, I was at first very dissapointed in the pedal design as there is no foot rest for your left foot. Then after reading the various failures with the pedals, I was giddy when I saw this thread.

My dad is an electrician, he used VV's diagram, went to Radio Shack and got a couple of 25 pin male printer cables along with the male 9 pin that he soddered pins in to create the male 7 pin, he made the "custom go between" about 15 inches long.

So now, with no cutting of wires at all, we both have the MOMO pedals working flawlessly with the DFP's. I was going to build a custom footrest for the DFP pedals, but thankfully won't have to now. Another bonus is the lighter springs in the momo pedals imho. I would suggest anyone who has the momo pedals to make the change. If you don't have the expertise, no doubt you can print the diagram, and take your settup into an electronic shop and they can do it for you.

Really love the feel of these pedals much more than the DFP's.
