I think it is amazing that GT 6 allows us to completely explore both Willow Spring tracks. There are no invisible boundaries at all (like they were on the Top Gear test track in GT 5). So you can drive anywhere you want until you ran into the fence - and that is a lot of space in the middle of the desert. On the smaller track you can even drive around the big parking space.

I didn't find any other tracks that give that kind of freedom. I know it is stupid to leave the track, but it still is funny. I took some rallye cars and did some offroad driving.

Did you find any other "hidden" things to explore in GT 6?

The first time I went careening off a turn at 80mph or something, I mentally braced for the invisible wall, but it never came! I was very excited and spent a bit of time roaming around in it.

Get a Honda Element, raise the suspension and then go for a ride at Streets of Willow. There's some pretty nice terrain features there. The big willow is bigger, but I think streets are better for offroad driving.

I noticed Ascari track has also some space for exploring and offroading.
Cool thnx

That's exactly what i do!

Why not the Land Rover? :(

Because the Honda is cheaper :)

The best offroader is the VW Schwimmwagen though. That 1st gear must be the shortest in the entire game. It got like 20 BHP or something like that, but with that 1st gear and the 4WD it can go anywhere :D
Cheaper than free? ;) Think the IA license gives ya one. Plus it's deliciously premium.

True. But what's the ground clearance like on the Land Rover? The Honda can be raised quite a bit.
Both show 205 in. on the ride height. Just would think realistically speaking the Land Rover would tackle the terrain better. Plus it's better looking while doing it. :)

Edit: looked up the ground clearance on the real cars. Element at 6.9 inches and the Evoque is at 8.4

All that aside yes it's fun. Was doing a bit offroad last night.

I'm thinking the opposite actually, the Land Rover is too stylish. If I drove one in real life I'd be careful not to damage it and that's not really compatible with offroad driving.

The Honda's more plain looks means that some dents here and there doesn't matter too much.

But anyway, now that I have the Schwimmwagen I don't use the Honda anymore :)

Problem is most SUV's are designed for getting groceries and dropping the kids off at soccer practice. Not too many actually off road well. The element would most likely get you stuck immediately.
Would be quite scared to ding up the Land Rover though so you're quite right there.

Willow Springs isn't entirely invisible-wall-free, but it's close. You can't drive over the 1ft high green barriers even if the dirt level is above the wall.

But i'll take it, because there is a severe lack of offroading in GT6.

yeah... but online this can be a problem. Ive took that whole course in like 40 seconds because of the whole... can drive through grass thing. Hopefully online...there's like an invisible laser line that makes it so the lap doesn't count. B.c ive done a 5 lap race there in less than 3 minutes.

I was in a lobby once and somebody suggested going to Big Willow, and getting a car that has less than 70 HP and go play tag in the infield.

Pretty fun. 👍

What was the name of said person?
Because Me and 3 friends invented that on December 8th, I knew we shoulda patented it...

Yeah, but if it gets stuck I can just leave it and get another one ;)

On a sidenote, it would be awesome if the Schwimmwagen tyres could be fitted to other cars.

I am sorry to say that driving offroad on Willow Spring (and other tracks) is no longer funny after 1.04. It is a shame that PD have removed that "feature".

Are you saying that something has changed or the invisible walls are back? I certainly hope not. Willow Springs, Ascarii and Silverstone Stowe have been fun locations, well, the latter was a bit dull but nice for a change.

No invisible walls but quicksand. As soon as you get off the asphalt it feels like being thrown into a bowl of syrup.

Use the Audi Pikes Peak Quattro Concept which is even more powerful I think
