Ya you guys are right it only allows to to continue the slide... which can happen TC on or off.

(Retracts statement and runs to hide :nervous:)
You were right about the second part though.

I think you're wrong on both statements there buddy, its forced on no matter at what angle your car is sliding. and I've never seen any tarmac surface where the TC sets in, no matter if you slide or not.
On Tsukuba after turn 7 there is an unused chicane. If you try to do a burnout there or drift around it, you will be unable to spin the wheels. The same goes for the alternate paths on Streets of Willow.

Turn 7?

Surely you mean turn 5 (and that's counting the small left-right after turn 1)? Or turn 3 if you don't count the left - right.

Not entirely true. I can drift my Odyssey on that.
BUT I can't do burnouts with RWD cars there.

I worded that carefully :scared:; I never said you couldn't drift, you just can't spin the wheels.

But why did you have to keep the headlights... you should be able to edit it more so it looks like the genuine article.
Because I prefer the Firebird to the Knight Industries Two Thousand I guess:tup:

Its good to see that we can get a good speed up off-road again:tup:

.. By the way: The traction control is only coming back off track if you drive on grass or sand. If you you still drive on tarmac (even if it is not the official track) TC stays off. You can try that on the smaller track for Willow Springs, because there a some tarmac roads not used as track (especially the parking lot).

Sorry about that mistake. I was checking it just now. It is ONLY possible to do burnouts on the parking lot area at the smaller Willow Spring track. Looks like it is considered a part of the track (probably because it is). TC will behave like on the rest of the track. Any other "off track" area will kick in the TC immediately.

So if anybody want a "free roam area" to just fool around - go to the "Streets of Willow Springs" and immediately after entering the race track take a turn to the left and leave the official track. There is the parking lot where you can do all kinds of crazy stuff without the TC messing up the fun.

I noticed Ascari track has also some space for exploring and offroading.

I just learned about the spot where you can go outside of the barriers and drive around in the woods.

Anyway, since the former issues with offroading (forced traction control and slowed down cars) has been fixed now for a while, perhaps it's time to bring this thread back?

I used the Ram for that. Raised the suspension all the way and softened it to the max. It used to be a lot of fun! And as usual, I remember PD tried to take the fun by adding invisible walls with an update, but thankfully they backed out in a later patch.

I like to use my Rally Impreza for that, on Big Willow.

AWD Drift! And no problem going off-track! So much fun.
