ds3 or wheel?

I just picked up a Driving Force GT the other day and will not go back to the DS3 it's just so much fun with the wheel, altho you will have to learn to drive again as it is so differant especially with FR cars.

How long does it take to get used to the wheel? I just switched to a DFGT. I tried to race with it right out of the box and was garbage (me, not the wheel). I'm now retaking my license tests using the wheel in an effort to get used to it.

I don't have a choice. I have to use a DS3 until I can get my hands on a wheel.

Likewise, a wheel is the way to go, especially with the physics. From what people have told me, it makes the game so much more enjoyable. Reality is closer than what it seems.

Yep, exactualy, I would love to have a wheel, but can't swing it yet.:indiff:

I use both my G27 and DS3. I use the G27 for races and cruises online with friends and a DS3 to drift because I find it easier. With the g27 I always spinout.:sly:

👍👍

I was thinking the same thing while reading this thread....I got crazy DS3 skills so no real need for a wheel.

Same thing here. I only have a DS3 but I wouldn't mind getting a Wheel to try a more immersive racing experience, although it's not really a priority for me.

A good FFB wheel just brings racing games to life. Currently using a DFGT and looking to upgrade to the G27 if they ever get back in stock.

I'm in the same boat as you mate, straight out the box and into a wall:)

I've been doing all the smaller races with normal cars in an effort to get used to it, very enjoyable but still got a long way to go untill i can match the times i set with the DS3.

I'm using DS3 at the moment. You have every button at the reach of your fingertips on a compact, wireless gamepad. But I agree it is great to have a proper steering wheel set with pedals to achieve that authentic driving feeling.

It took about 3 weeks to finally feel that I am as fast as the ds3 days. Now I can see how you get faster. Some of the trickiest corners in the game are easy with the wheel. Much easier to hit your apex and maintain proper speed without spinning.

I used to dread coming into the first turn at daytona road course. Now its controllable every time. That right there is gold.

Wheel. I bet the G27 is excellent, but the DFGT is good enough for me. I got it cheap :)

I actually use both the DS3 and the DFGT when I'm playing, I like the DS3 better for navigating the menus and for B-spec. But for driving it's the wheel, no question about it.

Anyone still using a Logitech Driving force (no Pro or GT) they got for GT3? I'm now 2 generations behind on the Playstation wheels, am I really missing out by not upgrading to a DFGT?

I picked up an HKS Racing controller since I was tight on the funds and cant afford a wheel at the moment. I have been getting faster lap times overall with this controller over the OEM Sony. Pretty happy thus far.

BUT, I will be buying a wheel soon.....

I am also using the G25 wheel and couldn't be anymore happier with its realistic immersion to "simulation driving". Once you've driven with a wheel, you'll never want to go back using a ds3 controller.

Driving GT5 with DS3 instead of a wheel is like making love to your girlfriend, but just with your finger...

Use and recommend the G-27 with a good wheel mount (am using a good one if you want more info)
I have noticed that the fastest drivers are on controllers - don't know why. Must be electronics or something.
The wheel and pedals "make the game" for me.
With the controller, couldn't get the Stick to work, so used the buttons and came away with sore/numb thumbs every night.
I know $$ is the problem - but well worth saving the pennies for.

Wheel.

You simply have greater ability to 'feather' all of your movements (steering and pedals) with a wheel rahter than a DS3.

So, taking this topic to ask. There are so many differences between Logitech DF GT Edition against G27 other than the manual shifts and plus pedal?

Really wanna know.

Wheel, whenever possible (I'd use it now, but I can't find the plug for the wheel to the outlet).
Except for Photomode, then, it's DS3.
