@ scale - Sorry, fixed it now. Don't know what happened there. ;)

Can´t make it Sunday.
Have to work from Monday on from 4am => have to leave house at 3:20
=> can´t stay up till 23 on Sunday

Have a great Race though 👍

Thank homes :) I did a 1.07:687 today in online lounge, what did other people do??

Haven't tried yet Scale, been messing around with the seasonal events and open lounges.

I may have a chance later after my sons night rugby match, if anyone is keen.

Thats about the same times I'm turning Scale

Damn im too slow if im doing same times :D joking, u should do well sunday then, i think i did a quick lap

I said "about" the same times, lol. You might need a little more tuning. :)

i cant race tomorrow as i am actually going racing with my college and their Radical
:P

Can i come Will? :D, ur lucky, i wanna go racing :( Why do u get to go with ur college, is it like a day out thing?

I might just make it back for the races, I've got a 3 hour drive starting at 5 so if i go a bit faster i will make it, but I've had no tuning time or practice so i will be slow lol

Guys, I don't think I will make it back in time myself...

I have asked driver 101 to host, so if you can't see me online make sure you are friends with Driverone0one and go to his lounge. ;)

Hi Homes

I will send results to you later bud.

Thanks to all last night.

Thanks Driver!

How did everyones race go?

Scale qualified upfront with me behind. Ally drove really well getting past me, making it a race for second until he spun coming out the dreaded last turn, handing me second place. Scale gap grew after my pit stop, I tried to hunt him down, but our pace was so similar, it was almost impossible.

Second race was won by Sass closely challenged by Scale. I had a shocker, after going totally sideways with scale wrecked my tires, I then over drove to try catch up...what a mess.

Rikkos was a man on a move, he drove one of his best. He is improving every round, but threw a possible win away. Next time rikkos.

Petrol was also very quick.

You missed out on a good one Homes.

Can i come Will? :D, ur lucky, i wanna go racing :( Why do u get to go with ur college, is it like a day out thing?

i went with the degree students to race the radical pr6 we came 4th and 2nd
at castle combe i even got use the pit boards
was better than gt5 racing
next year we might join the oss series so we might go too tracks all over britain

Of course its better thn GT5, theres no lag in real life lol. Good racing last night, u missed a great race homes, Sorry bout the spin 101, but i was down the inside, i dont think u saw me there and u turned in on my front panel. But i did wait for you :) Did u spin again l8er on? saw sme1 on map spinning in roughly ur position. Unlucky Rikkos on that spin, hit the kurb on that last corner :/ could of won that :). However nice turnaround 4 sassa, was complaining after 1st race then won the 2nd race :D Great defending, didnt leave a gap. Almost got u on last corner, just couldnt turn tight enough and ran into the back of you lol.

No worries Scale, didn't think anyone would want to try pass on the fast left hander. Its racing, yeah I did spin after that, actually twice before the pit stops. I totally over drove trying to make up time and wrecked my tires. Pitted on lap 7 and then had to pace the tire wear till the end.

Thanks for the race last night guys. My first official points win. I've won races just messng around but never in a series. Me and Rikkos had a good battle brewing early. He pitted one lap before me which put him ahead after I pitted. I was catching him but the laps were counting down quickly. But then coming out of the last corner, with a few laps left, he got the infamous death slide into pit lane. Didn't actually go into pit lane but his race was ruined. Brutal luck Rikkos, you had a great car. My win did not come easily though as Scale hunted me down. Thx for race me clean and fair Scale. I may have done some excessive blocking heading for the line, but I could already taste that champagne. I also would have never won if you guys hadn't clued me in on the correct tire strategy. So thank you for that. I get the tire strategy wrong every single week, and I'm incapable of figuring out what choice is faster over the race distance. Next week this process will start all over again. But for this week, I was the only Astra and I took care of business.

'Taste the champagne' lol that made me chuckle :) you didnt eccessive block m8, ive seen alot more violet blocking thn that in GT5 :D for tire straegy always go on softs ;)(You should also be a commentator, you sounded like one in that comment lol)

My dad was a disc jockey for a local radio station for many years so I've got some experience in that! Yeah, I should not have been complaining. I was just just frustrated. I seem to always get it wrong. Add to the fact that Deep Forest is my favorite track and anything but a podium was going to be disappointing. That 6th place finish was a tough pill to swallow. I think I'm always pushing the softs too hard and have to pit twice. I'm glad Rikkos recovered and got 3rd.

All the races look like softs are the way to go. I havent even bothered checking the mediums, the overall race time is quicker.

I reckon for the next series, just a few more laps per race will force the other compounds into play. That should add a little more spice.

I know I have no place voicing, but is anyone mixing different compounds front/rear?

What you mean you have no place voicing, we all waiting for you to join in soon.

I haven't mixed the compounds, I did on the previous series with the Corvette, but so far the TT has been wearing evenly for me, and the half way mark seems achievable if managed.

Well done Sassa and Scale... Sounds like I missed out on a good one :(

I can't sign into Photobucket at the moment... Will post the results and points when I can sign in. Hopefully later.

Woh, this is getting close!

This was a great race. Not so happy with the outcome of the second one ;-) . I feared the worst as i had almost no practice time (max 20 min) during the week and i only qualified second to last......until the race started and i noticed everybody was using the "corner tarmac" on the left-right combo after the second turn......i was driving the normal road during qualy.lol
Had a good tire usage and finished 3th in the first race but then the horror of the second race occured:-( leading after a good pit strategy and two laps before the finish i made a little, ietsiepietsi, tiny, minuscule mistake ( in my view. I think the most people would call me a dumb ass for that move . Lol ) and i saw my life flash before me. Somehow managed to keep clear from the pit entry but never the less my champagne turned instantly into a glass of water :-(

......but it was FUN :-) next race is mine ,boys :-)

Grtz

I know I have no place voicing, but is anyone mixing different compounds front/rear?

I have experimented with this but found you will need to alter the set-up substantially to get round the handling problems caused by different grip levels
i also found these situations occurred
if you are running harder front tyres set the the car up for more over steer becuse the car had a habit of washing out and the only way to correct it was to slide the car note it not drifting it an an all wheel slide however this meant tyres tyres went nearly as quick
harder tyres on the rear and soft on the front
lead to a false sense of security as the front tyres would allow you to tight lines and push hard but the rear tyres did not have have enough grip to take these lines and so wrecked both the rear and front tyres
note mediums on most tracks are over a second slower and require a good position during the pit phase
the quickest way i think is to do a soft then medium strategy
homes had done it multiple times and proved it works

This all depends on race length. Our championship race length so far has allowed the soft compound to reach the halfway mark. You just have to keep your lines clean and not overheat them.

Any other combo puts you at a disadvantage. The pace is so hot upfront, that mediums are just a no go.

I did some runs to test. I found my overall race time using softs only was far quicker than doing a soft stint followed by a medium.

This all is, however, personal preference. Everyone may find a different result according to their driving style.

Sounds like I've been missing out on some serious fun :(
Hopefully I will be back soon..... i'm out of the running for the championship but I can still influence it by taking a win somewhere ;)
We should lengthen the races a bit, just long enough that doing one stop with softs can't work and it will force us to try different combinations. An extra 7 laps or do will do just fine ;)
..... and possibly increase the pp all round for the next championship. Maybe GT500 starting with 620pp and the high cars around 660pp ;)
