News & Notes
  • If ren-tec leaves this round with a 105 point or larger margin over 2nd place, he can clinch the drivers championship.
  • Team Bullshift have clinched the team championship.
  • Audi have clinched the manufacturer championship.

Hey everyone, i'm sorry i haven't participated in this series for a long time now (or been online in fact) but some things happening outside of gtplanet....which stopped me from coming online at all. I shall try my best to participate for the last 3 races of this series. :)

Ive run both a single stop and a 2 stopper .. with only a 4 second difference . Will be re-running the 2 stop stint ... the Audi certainly enjoys every inch of El Capitan .

I've tried a two-stopper only at the moment, but i prefer the handling with the softer tyres....i don't think a one-stopper will be any quicker at all. Going to try again tonight, see if i can get my qualifying lap any better.

I've been running on a 2-stopper strategy all week starting on a harder compound tire. I'm sorta pondering wether to do a change in stint strategy in an attempt to improve on my times.

Nah .. your times are ok Cam .. no need to bother trying to improve .

I got less than 27 hours. Therefore, I have time to improve.;):D

Splits from my fastest race lap:

T1: 0'27.527

T2: 1'01.987

And Qualifying lap:

T1: 0'27.407

T2: 1'01.774

Love this track and this car. The only part that really requires effort is the huge hill after the tunnel, but other then that its smooth sailing.

Wow great combination, I loved the feel of the car through the corners here, and i have some splits from my qualifying lap - which was much better for me than my race lap...👎
T1 : 26.885

T2 : 59.738

The dodgy bit of the track for me was the section just before the start-finish line, but overall, great fun! :)

Oh yeh, times sent!

Joe

I said it was a great combination, but i didn't expect to be up that high!! Wow a second place, and yes i know, only 5 drivers ran, but for me, that is extremely pleasing! :)
My qualifying lap pleased me, took me 10-15 laps to get a quick one, so its good to see it paid off! And everyone decided on a 2 stopper i see, it was better to run on the soft tyres, instead of losing 2-3 seconds on hards....
Well done to Ren-Tec for a cracking performance, 21 seconds ahead is very good, especially against me......ahem....

Joe

Good job with the driving for this Round Aremburgkerve.:sly:👍 I wish I could use some advice from you on how I should be driving the Opel since we have the same car. No slight intended to waynz or Ren-Tec.:)

BTW Ren, congrats on officially clinching the Drivers Championship. ;)👍 Looks like I'll be battling for the final season podium spot for the last part of the season.

Cheers TS and CAMikaze (Chris), i had fun racing on El cap but was short on time to run it and had only one go at it. In fact i did it while chatting to Chris lol and well done to Aremburgkerve for a great come back race ;)

see you on the track guys 👍

ps, can i drive the Merc next season??

Thanks Ren-Tec, i was pleased, i think El Capitan suited the Astra beautifully, and that helped me push it to its limits. Well done on clinching the championship again! 👍
Thanks also CAMikaze, i was much slower than you when i began driving for this round, but I put a lot of time into my qualifying lap, learning the braking points, and all that practice helped me produce the good result i did! :)
