Yes, it's here, the 34 race DTM tournament, this thread will contain everything you need to know about round 2.​



Trail Mountain​
Qualification​
Race - 9 Laps​



Before Race Rules​

Transmission Top Speed setting may be altered
You may use Racing Super Soft Tires for Qualifying only
​



Qualification Rules​

Racing Super Soft Ties may be used.
There is not limit to how many qualification laps you run, but please PM me your race and qualification lap in at the same time.
Rumble strips are part of the track.
Please do not use any cheat devices while qualifing or racing.

Race Rules​

Please run only the given amount of laps.
If you ever go off the track, return to the course but add 2 seconds to your overall race time.

Please do not use any cheat devices while qualifing or racing.​




After Race Rules​

Please only PM me your times in between the given dates unless you have a reason (holiday etc.).
Don't argue about your qualifing position or race result, if anything seems suspicious, I will take care of it.​

Two new rules - RSS Tires can be used in Qualifying, Transmission Top Speed setting may be altered.
 
Nice One George 👍 But you may want to edit the first post to say 'Round 2'! :)

The rules clash a bit. It says Please use only racing medium tyres, then in the next one it say RSS tyres may be used :S
 
Only becuase I copied and pasted it all, I'll sort it out.
 
I'll get on this when my mom lets me on the playstation, there is a heavy rain storm ATM and she doesn't want me to get electrocuted.
 
NOTICE - FROM ROUND 2 AND ONWARDS (ROUND 2 INCLUDED), THE RACE WILL BE DONE IN SINGLE RACE MODE, AI SET TO -2, THIS WILL ALLOW TIRE WEAR AND PENALTIES TO MAKE A MORE REALISTIC RACE.



ANY TIRES CAN BE USED IN THE RACE TO MAKE IT MORE OF A STRATAGY GAME.

Great, it was hard enough in Time Trial mode, now I gotta worry about tyre wear and the fricken mobile chicanes :ouch:

What does tyre wear and penalties have to be set to?
 
Ah, George,

I think the above question is asking if we set 'in-game' penalties to off,forced pit or speed reduction?

As in, if we 'bump' the AI or a wall a little too hard when passing them, what should the game do?

I would suggest 'forced pit' and then make the ruling 'no forced pits allowed'

East, I would go with 'strong', I mean, I can usually make even softs last 10 laps with it set to mild, so 'strong' would be the way to go. Forcing a pit-stop in the middle of the race if you pick really soft tyres.

I did'nt know there were diffrent tire wear settings, put it on strong please, and penalties will be set at forced pit entry.
 
Like the fact that we do it single race mode now, but if GT4 was online we could race fellow competitors in reality.
 
I hope everyone udnerstands the new rules, don't worry, after round 2 all the rules will be fixed, no more changes :)

Hey Balls, mind if I ask how far you are getting the Racing Soft tires to go with Tyre Wear set to Strong?
 
Oh yes, you can discuss anything to do with how far your tires get you and what tires you use in this thread, not times though :)

Racing soft's i'm getting 5 laps at full chat! ish!

It's all about the balance of tyre life/lap-time.

5+4 laps on softs with the obvious pit stop is quick!

9 laps on hard might be faster, not tested yet.

Submitted my times, forgot to mention that the tires I ran for the race were Racing Mediums (Bad idea, the handling on the car went sour after 6 laps)
 
It was open to everyone, this is round 2, your to late, sorry.

Some back for season two which will be starting in late March - early April next year.

Wow! You're like a whole compound ahead of me lol, I only get like 3 and a half laps on R4s, I have to use R3s if I want to do 5+4 laps for a 1 stop race!
 
I have'nt tried yet, I think I'll be using Racing Hards and going for a non stopper.
 
Just done some 9 lappers to test strategies.

Funniest thing!

9 laps on RH's came out almost the same time as 5+4 laps on RS's with a pit-stop! (to within .5 of a second)

Didn't bother with the other compounds as mediums are 1.5 seconds a lap slower than softs so I would lose 7-8 seconds with a 5+4(second stint on RS's), 12+ seconds slower if I stayed on mediums all race.

Hards only just last the 9 laps (deep orange and really slippery at the end)

More testing needed!
