Why oh Why did they get rid of it? This was a brilliant feature in GT2, and lets face it, half the reason most kids want a Impreza WRX or a Skyline GT-R is that whoosh on changing gear!

BUT
most importantly, do you miss it?

I really liked that dump noise. They should really have it in GT4. It made me feel good hearing. Its kinda like men and their loud motorcycles.

It's still there...it's just not nearly as loud. Same with exhausts...I really liked getting a straight pipe on a car in GT2 and hearing it. :burnout:

I'd have to say that I have heard dump valve noises in GT3, unfortunately as the case is with the music it can get drowned out by the engine (but isn't it an engine noise?) they usually occur in very quick succession!

Still not as good as a real ife dump valve, they always make me tingle, I was waiting at a bus stop once with some slow moving traffic, this guy was stting they in his Cossie, revving the engine and all you could here was that sweet whoosh!

I find it a shame that the dump valve noise is gone. There was nothing better than hearing the whine of the turbo along with the distinctive hissing and the all mighty swoosh. Sure, an NA engine sounded good, but I grew up on Turbo cars in the GT series.

Huh?
I can hear the BOV in every turbo car in GT3...

I can only hear it when I drive the cars using the "in car" view. When I drive the cars using that 3rd person view I can't hear the BOV at all...:nervous:

The blow off valve sound is present on any turbo car. It is especially prevalent on cars that have a larger turbo. Whenever u ease off the gas or go over a bump, you should hear the bov. Listen closely, it IS there.

Yes, but it is very quiet and I'm not happy about that.

True, in gt3 the noise is less noticable. The purpose of a blow-off valve is to keep the turbo spun up between gears so that it doesnt take forever for it to spin up again. The GT-one has a VERY distinct and clear sound, but the fact is, with lower hp cars and ones with smaller turbos or ones without the frequent shifting racing transmission, you wont notice the sound nearly as much as Gt2. It is more realistic, but it doesnt sound as cool. I also agree w/ the straight pipe thing. If i got a cobra 427 w straight pipes, i wanna hear it! it sounds cool, but it isnt loud enough! That baby should ROAR!
