I've expressed some of my thoughts regarding E3 by creating some editorial of mine.
John-itorial: Does Anyone WIN E3?
Microsoft was dubbed as winning E3 according to a poll. Not sure if that's just the Los Angeles area or not, but I am not really caring of what console "wins" at the show. I care more about games than what console or group outdoes the others. I own a PlayStation 2 and not yet a PS3. I don't know as much about the PS3 to actually say I'm excited fully. I've always been fond of the PlayStation lineup since not really playing the Nintendo 64 much.
The aspect by most people (especially the gaming media elite) put on E3 is that this is the ultimate battleground for the three major consoles. Maybe since I don't own ANY of the next-gen consoles
I like my PlayStation material. I want a PS3. So I still feel pretty left out that I don't have a PS3. I probably also fear that times have become more about online play and the most incredible hardware offered to the general public-at-large. Nobody wins ANYTHING at E3 unless someone truly delivers on all fronts. Like if you had enough money to get any of the latest consoles. Which would sway you to getting whatever it is you want? I'm thinking that the Wii can be something different and fun. You know... you ARE the controller. The PlayStation 3 has been fairly amazing for all kinds of media from games to movies. Am I going to switch over to the Wii or XBOX 360 because of a great showing at E3? Not likely. This is the second-straight year I missed the Nintendo conference. I've been a fan of Nintendo even before I've been fascinated with PlayStations.
Perhaps since I've cared more about games than extra stuff, I'll probably not pay too much credence to a lot of statistical information and such. So who "won" E3? Here were two opinions from G4 last night:
Kevin P.: Microsoft.
Adam Sessler: the hardcore gamer.
Still to me, nobody WINS E3. I'm still basically left out as I have yet to join the next-gen generation. I have nothing to comment on specific points of E3, at least for now.
