I don't think so. Maybe some GT5 DLC or nothing new regarding GT5, or even no GT representation at all. Who knows. GT6 however sounds like a long shot to me, specially given PD's work "rythm".

Also, I hope PD keeps their 2 games per console tradition and make GT6 for PS3. I'm gona feel somehow cheated having bought a PS3 only for a rushed and incomplete version of Gran Turismo and wouldn't even think about getting a PS4.

Because kaz and PD are the bestest when it comes to deadlines, in the past they have only been off schedule by the small amount of a few years.

Well they don't have much of a choice in this case, do they? If they are currently developing GT6 for the PS3, which makes the most sense at this point, then waiting another 2 years or so will mean that they will be releasing a AAA ps3 title near or even past the release of the ps4, which probably wouldn't go over too well...

Better to do that then to release a high end title on a platform that relatively few would have, while ps3 has millions of guaranteed buyers.

I really dont know what your expextations about Gt6 will be but Pd only have about 220 Premiums at the moment. That means in five years maybe 550 premiums with gt6. Thats not even realistic considering that they need 6 months too get one premium.

Yeah, but you need to give people reasons to buy the new console. Should GT3 have been on the PS1 because in 2001 there were many more of those than PS2s?

I wonder if they could develop GT6 for both PS3 and PS4, or at least port it to PS4 at some point.

It's called a launch title?

Which are rarely Any good and usually games to demonstrate the platforms ability. If I remember correctly, ps3 had a few sports titles, motor storm, and a couple others.

I can't see gt6 being a ps3 game, it will take pd at least another year or so at least to finish the game, at which point the ps4 will be gearing up for launching, pd won't release gt6 on a console that's about to be made redundant.

There no backwards comparability on PS4?

Welll they shot themselves in the foot then.

I hope it dose but nobody knows yet, the ps3 dosent play ps2 games (apart from a few early launch machines) so I wouldn't expect Sony will implement that feature into the ps4

That may be the case, but I'd like to think Sony and PD are smart enough to not have gt6 as a launch title. The lost revenue would be tremendous. You figure, not too many people are going to put down $750 for the ps4 on launch, so you have a limited market upon gt6 release if it's a launch title. So if the game is the least bit disappointing, the larger portion of the market, being buyers who get the game later rather then sooner will have been made aware more fully of its folly. Gt5 suffered from this if I remember correctly, and if gt6 is a launch title it would have less insured buys to keep sales high.

I think its stands to reason that the next gen of consoles will be appearing in the next 2 years, the specs of both the xbox 720 and ps4(orbis) are quite common knowledge on some of those tech sites, the current gen are at their limits, the 360 especially. Gt5 is pushing the ps3 hard and it shows, battlefield 3 is a perfect example of just how far consoles have fallen behind even a mid range pc, the differance in pc and console versions are like night and day.

Until there is more info it doesnt stand to reason there is hardly anything showing the next gen consoles until there is we cant assume that will happen.

I don't care when the announce or release it, they just better fix the problems and add what PEOPLE want, not what Kaz thinks is cool. Kinda hoping another racing game is announced for PS3 to give GT5 some competition. And I don't mean NFS.

RUMOURS. None of that information is confirmed to be true, even the Orbis codename people keep casually throwing around.

In the past a console is revealed at E3 and then released in time for christmas the following year.

Wii U - Announced E3 2011, release Q4 2012
PS3 - Announced E3 2005, release Q4 2006

If Sony are telling the truth and no console is revealed at E3 this year that means E3 2013 with a release by December 2014, if that pattern remains the same.

I agree with the December 2014 date, which is why I think gt6 will be a ps4 title as it will take pd at least that long to make gt6, they won't release it on a console in its last few months of life span, Sony will want a massive title like gt6 to help shift the new console, it has to avoid the same problem when ps3 launched with mediocre games. The battle with the xbox 720 is going to be massive, Sony will want the big guns out on day one

Considering all 3 of our fat PS3's have succumbed to YLOD, I'm not feeling too confident about being a beta tester, err early owner, of a PS4. SONY is losing credibility, evident by 4 straight years of losses.

I have thought of that especially after my fat ps3 died my thoughts will be wait and see how it goes then buy if the coast is clear.

Which is all well and good, but PD don't do "day one" and never have shown anything implying that they could if they wanted to. Quite the opposite, actually.

I still have my 1st PS3 when I 1st got it runs like a champ. Guys GT6 will be on PS3 in my opinion.

Translation: Apperantly the name "Gran Turismo 6" surfaced on the LinkedIn-Profil of Brian Dunn. He is »Associate Brand Manager« at Sony Computer Entertainment America and is product-Manager for multiple titles. It has been removed shortly afterwards though.

Thanks, a proper English translation:

I found that too! I'm actually thinking that GT6 could be at least announced at E3 2012... But we'll see, theres still about 2-ish weeks till E3.

We can only hope:cheers:
