Nice one Jordan 👍, finally, a decent coverage of E3.

Just a quick question: Does Sage have an HD camera, and an assistant ? I'm sure he'll be pretty busy taking notes and talking to people, and if there's any chance of video interviews it would be good to have someone to hold the cam, the sky is the limit now. :D

E3 - GTP Media Channel. I can see it happenning. ;)

Good to hear this...

Still think we will get something prior to E3 as Sony is bound to have a press release for their 3DTVs going on sale the week before E3.

No, he doesn't have an HD camera, but I'd like to change that. Anyone in the LA area have one that he can borrow for a few hours? Otherwise, we may have to get money together to rent one (about $150) or settle for video from his iPhone 3GS. He will be at the show alone because, as I mentioned, E3 only hands out media passes on an individual basis. An interview with Yamauchi is most likely out of the question, as Sage will only be at the show for a few hours on the first day (to eliminate the need for a hotel room).

We won't know anything for a few weeks.

Got it, if no one can provide a cam, please set up an account in Paypal, up to $10 would be a good value, I'm sure we can gather at least 20 people to help. Also, depending on how much money we gather, we can support him more effectively, I'm sure a decent hotel room near the event would be a little bit expensive, but as we have at least 150 members visiting the forums in a daily basis, it's possible. Of course that everything depends on his time availability. Please keep us tuned. ;)

-> I may ask my best friend for me to borrow his HD camera to cover the show...

No. Sage should go to Walmart, get an HD camera and when he's done with it return it.

No, he shouldn't do like all the tards making life harder and more expensive on all of us.

To be fair, there are places like the QVC Shopping Channel, where you are practically advised to just buy, even if you are unsure it's what you want, experiment with it, and if you really don't want it, just return it within 30 days. At the end of the day, these places make huge money on the postage which they would still benefit from.

Just saying! ;)

Not to discourage anyone but pretty much every major gaming website will be spending $1000s professionally recording all the GT5 footage. I dont see how a single person with (assuming) possibly no previous experience of E3 or links with media relations people can get anything on camera we wont be able to see anyways either from media professionals attending or indeed self uploaded videos.

Would it not be a wise thing to consider possibly trying to get the voices and concerns of GTP members to take part in a POLL here or indeed for "Jordan" and those that take to do with the running of these forums to sit down and come up with a plan to what people may want to see or indeed have asked in interviews.

How hard would it be to approach one of those games/media/website companies to say okay here is what people from "GTP" want to see our know about the game. Simply pass on the information and help them get better coverage?

Sage won't be conducting any interviews beyond talking with the representatives at the Sony booth. I'm working on collaborations with other news outlets for more in-depth information now.

Of course they will, but that's not the point. Sage is going to provide us with everything we need and want to know about the new demo within an hour after the doors open. We won't have to wait for foggy details to trickle out, nor will we have to wait days closely watching other sites for any GT5 material they publish.

Good point Jordan, if he gets the stuff uploaded for showing people sooner Im sure lots here would indeed lap it up...

Keep us posted regards any collaborations, that could be good.

Absolutely, and not only that, we will have somebody there whose primary focus is GT5, and will no doubt provide a level of detail and spin where other journalists may just glance over as they try to capture every element of the show as well. We also get the privilage of him updating these forums in real-time almost, so we don't need to go fishing for the information.

-> So far, I'm still down for it...its only a matter of time. ;)

~> I wish I'm a journalist... :indiff:

On top of this, the video will be GTPlanet property, any breaking details Sage gets and sends here before anyone else mentions it will be a GTPlanet breaking news, and the whole ordeal legitimizes GTP as a proper news site, even if the results show room for growth and development.

If GTPlanet can be seen as a legitimate news source by more people then Jordan can get more and bigger advertisers and a much better presence at events like E3 via more press passes.

Bring a bunch of $5 bills and offer them to the people standing next line (@ the demo) in exchange for driving a specific car and/or track.

Just do a quick interview with the people to try and filter out some of the n00bs, but not all of them, we will need some good damage videos.

duh!
