Eagerly downloaded the EA Access app, as I had $10 left in my Live account.

The game only and ONLY wants you to pay through CC.

Thanks EA.. guess I'll be steering clear of your games.

Since its a subscription service it wants to make sure it can take the money every month and a credit card is the only way to do that. Its the same with every subscription service you either need a credit or debit card.

They could allow for X months based on the amount you have in your account, but since that then cannot be touched, the account would essentially be a bank account then.

Given its as everyone has said already, based on a subscription I don't know why you are surprised. EA don't have to offer it at all.

Unless you don't have a CC period, it is an outstanding deal. $30 USD for 1 full year is a steal for all the content/discounts you get.

Oh I absolutely agree - that is good value for money. Tough luck about the CC bit though.
