Don't know if anyone noticed, but if you look back at the announcement of the Nascar series to GT5, you will see that the cars are from the 2009 season with those ugly rear wings.

Just wondering did they say anything about this? I bet they still have hold of these models and would be great if they released them. Even removing all the sponsors and stickers, it would be interesting to drive one :) Thoughts?

Of all the cars PD had to choose from and they went for NASCARs. Just look at all the race cars they could've chosen from, no matter what age they're from.

Oops, did I say that out loud! lol

The cars in the pics you posted don't have spoilers, they have wings. The current Sprint Cup cars have spoilers.

They also had the Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota's in the trailer.

Wings, spoilers, call them what you want. Its just technical terms. In the end, they are all designed to perform the same funtion...provide downforce.

Although in real life the wing proved a bit useless..

Unless you get spun, then the wing provides plenty of upforce.

I was actually at the first race where they used the new NASCAR design with the wing. It was bristol in 2007. Kyle Busch won, then in his interview said the cars sucked. It was great

Looks like you accidentally a word.

Yea, guess I did uh? Susposed to read, "I'm glad they got rid of it"

@ Shoe: I remember watching that race. Me being a KB fan, I thought that was pretty funny. Kid hates the car but still drives it to victory, lol.

Ahh good find.

What I find strange is that they spent all this time and money on modeling each car and acquiring each sponsor for that car, only to scrap them and then create them from the 2010 season. :indiff:

They just had to remove the "wing" and add a "spoiler" (and obviously edit the liveries of some) But the problem was the sponsors, they just changed (or removed) some to anothers that are completely different. :ouch:

If I remember, the 2009 E3 trailer also showed a NAPA car, appearing to be Michael Waltrip.
