There's an easier way. On the car selection screen (the one that has thumbnails on all of the cars) The window is more clear on the premium cars.

This. On premiums you can see interior (seats) more clearly than in standards.

Since PD updated some standard cars from Gt5, it is quite bothering for many of us who dunno which car is premium until u bought the car.

Just to see if there's a "view gallery" option under the "select color" option.
"View gallery" option are only available to premium cars.

Hope this helps.

I ended up going to the Moon, riding a magic pony while playing Moon Over the Castle on an electric guitar, and crash into it, making an epic explosion.

... Did something wrong?

Do you honesty think this is new information? Really?

This post was incredibly helpful. 👍 As stated above, many people just got the game yesterday and may not read GTP enough to have caught up on all the new info.

And looking at the windows isn't always a full proof way of differentiating because some "standards" have fairly visible interiors. Ford RS200, for example.

It´s new information. Polyphony should advertise their bad fillers more clearly I think. Some cars I bought is just so insanely bad you wonder how they made the cut. But some probably by these games based on number of cars included I suppose.

In my opinion people shouldn't be "obsessed" with standard/premiums anyway. Of course it's cooler if a car is premium, but in the end, this game is supposed to be about driving the cars, you can drive them all exactly the same.

PD shouldn't be putting us in this position in the first place.
There are no excuses any more for standard cars when PD have been working on the PS3 for nearly 10 years!
PS4 is out for Gods sake and they're still using PS2 era cars!
Don't even get me started on sounds... :(

I know, it would be fantastic to have more than 1000 premium cars, but the thing is, they take a lot of time to model with so much detail. Look at Forza 5, the cars look fantastic but they have very few.
Personally i'd rather have a lot of less detailed cars (let's say semi-premium) rather than few, very detailed cars.

Actually, it makes a big difference to those of us who use the in car view. I really prefer to drive with no race data or anything distracting on the screen. When I use standard cars, It's just black and lame and I have to turn on all of the race data in order to get a tach and speedo.

I really don't care much about the exteriors since I race from inside the car. I just which they all had interiors.

How did you drive in previous GT's (or games) then? No racing game used to have cockpit view, and people still played. Even if its not strictly realistic, I think exterior cams can be good aswell, it's a matter of taste.

Seriously? I also grew up watching tube TV's, should I use one of those too? ;)

The previous games aren't GT6, so it's irrelevant. We are discussing the current game. And if you are curious, bumper cam.

Well, as I said, I think exterior cams can do the job aswell. In fact you see far better so I use them :D
Personally I dont care if it's less realistic to use non-cockpit view. For me it's a game to have fun.

Well the best CRTs do offer superior image quality over any LCD or plasma yet released so I think that analogy is a bit broken since I don´t expect that is what you mean.

I also fail to see how the argument games shouldn´t improve holds water either. I remember even papyrus indycar racing I raced in the 486 PC days had cockpit view :). But yes what view we preferr end up subjective not everyone want full realism many sitting in cockpits already may feel it´s cake on a cake with double wheels or just want better visibility since 99 % of us have to small windshields. Still in race cars you do generally sit very low so visibility is poor so cockpit view is often more realistic. Not for standard cars though.

I think GT would do much better with fewer but more high quality cars instead and every car should hold to the same standard.

Thank you for that. I was wondering if there was a way earlier today as I got GT6 yesterday for Christmas. Cheers!!

In GT5 I tended to drive more standard cars than premium anyways and find once rolling I don't notice the lack of interior as I mostly watch the road and guages. But having said that, when there are cars that are done both ways I would prefer to buy the Premium so this is handy.

This is true for me as well, and I have fun racing in cockpit view. I also do better in cockpit view. Since racing games have advanced enough to have realistic cockpits, I certainly don't wanna go back. I simply don't use the standard cars (save the open top cars, like the Pescarolos, that have a cockpit, but no working gauges) but it's not a problem for me really, as there are 400+ premium cars for me to play with.
