I can't edit the threads name like I could do on GTP5. I mean, what if I screw up on a thread name and I would like to change it? Jordan, did you disable this also, cause I found the Edit thread thing from the Admin tools to be a useful tool.

I had to modify the code a bit to get vB3 to show you the Admin Tools...it's pretty secure. Try it now and you should be able to do it.

Jordan, I still can't do it. I still get the following message:

Darin, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Sorry, try it again and it should work.

Allow me to clarify, you can change it by editing the title of the first post in the thread, not the "Edit Options" page.

I've tried that. It don't work. I go to Admin Option / Edit Thread. And it don't allow me. But whats this Edit Options?

Well, try it again. It worked in my testing after I changed the settings. I was referring to the "Edit Thread" when I said "Edit Options".

I'm still getting that same damn message. You were right about it being secure, cause damn it is really secure if you can't fix it.

I give up, I'm sure other people need help more than I do.

All done. Thanks Jordan! Darin, I just edited the title in the first post on the thread and that worked just fine.

Darin, I'm not sure if you're doing it right. Even if thread title editing wasn't activated, when you edited the first post in a thread and changed the title, it would simply change the title of the post inside the thread, and not the thread title that you see in the forum, you would never see an error. You will, of course, see an error if you try to view the "Edit Thread".

Darin, hit the "edit" button on the first post of the thread that you made. Now you should be to the familiar edit screen, that has your message, and in the box above it the title of the post (it's labeled title). Change that name and the name of the entire thread changes (the first post's topic and the thread's name are the same thing in this version of VB, so changing the post's title changes the thread's name, get it?)
