The one thing that kind of ruins the game for me is the level-scaling. It makes the world far less believable. It's rediculous running into bandits wearing daedric armor. And the fact that there's noone with a set of ebony armour when you're at level 1, making it really hard to know where you stand in the world.

I get that, but would you want to be beaten alive by guys in daedric armor at level 1? since it's an open ended world that you can travel anywhere in I think the scaling is fine.

I would be fine with it. In fact I would want it to be like that. Then I'd just load a save game and stay out of that place until I'm powerful enough.

200 dungeons? It doesn't matter because they're all the same. Save for the what, 4 different kinds? It's just the same old all over again, and again and again.

Woo! I leveled up to lvl 2. I wasted about an hour or so in the first dungeon thats right across the water as soon as you get out of the sewers after the king gives you his amulet.

edit: Well, I started wandering towards Weyron Priory and on the way found a Fort (forgot the name) and around that area I found a big stone with some engraving on it and I walked up to it and pressed space and it gave me some special armor for a little while. It was some old, rusted looking dagger and some gauntlets. After that, I made my way to Weyron Priory and walked around there for a while. Man, I'm really loving this game. :D About 4 hours play time so far and I'm a little over half way to level 3.

yeah it's a really fun game, if you dont have anything like aerobics or acrobatics that involve running/jumping to level up, do you use quick travel? easy if you dont wanna explore/fight random monsters/walk a long way to somewhere. i'm around the place of lvl 35 i think.

What's the best way to make a mage that also has fighting abilities with a sword. I want to make like a war wizzard like I had in other RPG type games but I can't seem to figure out the right combination.

like a new charachter? I'd say choose a race good in magicka (havent memorized them) and have some of the main abilities be Blade, block, destruction, Athletics, Heavy/light armor, ( love heavy more than light, I suggest you pick just one) conjuration/mysticism/alteration (your choice) and if you have some skill(s) left over try acrobatics, etc. and maybe just look at the birthsigns, I wouldnt reccomend any of the skill ones, basically because they arent too useful (for me atleast)

Here's some screens from my game. I run 1024x768 (althought I *could* do 1280x1024, I don't want any frame drop at all), all sliders set to "defualt" with view distance at max and distant lands on. High water detail, full shadows, and a few other of the options down towards thoughs set on high with HDR on and 2xAA and 16xAF through video card settings. :)

Pako
Here are some promised screen shots:

Very nice screenshots Pako!! The 3rd pic of you standing by the water is.
Integra Type R, Your screenshots are really nice too. I like that red sky and the red portal.

Thanks. :) Man Pako, those screens are gorgeous. Were you running the dual x1900xt's when you took those?

I'm ashamed to look at my screen shots now. :embarrassed:

I am surprised that mine look as good as they do with my hardware compared to yours.

Oh I know where the quest was, I was just stating where I was at in the Main Quest :P

I finished the Main Quest, it was sweet. I guess I'll go do random quests now. Only level 4 so far :P

BlazinXtreme:

You can either choose the class Battlemage, or Spellsword.

Those are a combination of Melee / Magic. With Battlemage favoring melee, and Spellsword favoring Magic.

I think a Dark Elf makes a great Battlemage, and maybe a Breton for Spellsword?

Alright thanks, I'm off to start a new game since WOW went down for maintence.

Here's an interesting little tidbit...

In your console (the tilde key, you noob! That squiggly thing at the top left corner. Just kidding!), type either "coc toddtest" or "coc testinghall". No quotes.

Either command leads you to an area that was used in development of Oblivion. Most notable of these two areas is the fact that the developers opted to create a character named "Dewey Decimal"!

I stumbled across these commands a few days ago and finally tried them out. Be forwarned though, some areas require light as they are completely dark. I also managed to fall off the map in one of the rooms that I entered!

Enjoy.

There was something similar in Morrowind. You could use the console to transport yourself to a big room just full of random items, probably something used by the developers for testing and they didn't bother to remove it.
