The coping has begun.

It's certainly worth noting voter ID has been required in Wisconsin since 2016, the vote last night was just to change it from a law to a part of the state constitution.

The popular vote was 52%-48%

That is really concerning wow.
If anything I'm surprised it was that big of a victory considering once you get out of the southeastern part of the state it's mostly rural farmland (and it seems quite a few think the tariffs will payoff in the long run).

If Musk resigns, I'll consider resubscribing to so-called "full" self driving. I find it to be useful, but I canceled to send a message

He's getting ready to leave the government per some reports due to a limit on the number of days he can be involved. All he's got is Tesla, Space X, & Twitter. And even if he steps down, his constant controversial speech on Twitter and in person will continue to affect the Tesla stock regardless b/c people know he'd still be a beneficiary of it even after stepping down.

The board would need him to either stop opening his mouth or remove him from any financial benefit to put Tesla back in the public's good graces.

I like how these people still look at themselves as the underdogs, the ones subjugated by the majority - they control all three branches of the federal government....
This is part of the stuff that makes them look particularly fasc-y. They're simultaneously massive underdogs fighting up from the bottom against immense powers, but also the strong and invincible leaders that everyone else bows down to at the mere mention of a threat.

It's complete horsecock that's totally divorced from reality.

The grift goes on...

Looks like Elon Musk may be setting up Tesla to “bail out” his private AI company, xAI, which just absorbed Twitter (X), despite xAI having little revenue and a speculative $125B valuation.

This move follows Musk’s history of shifting losses and leveraging Tesla to cover bad bets—like the overvalued $44B Twitter purchase that tanked in value. Now, Musk is inflating xAI’s valuation via a stock-based acquisition of X and may push Tesla to invest in xAI under the pretense of needing AI for its products.

Critics argue this is a self-serving scheme, with Musk regaining Tesla shares he sold to buy Twitter, effectively making Tesla shareholders foot the bill twice. Meanwhile, xAI’s product “Grok” trails far behind industry leaders, raising concerns that this is more about Musk’s control than business value.

Elon decided to host a Path of Exile 2 stream on X with the excuse that it was to test Starlink while he was flying on a private jet.

Anyone that reads gaming news semi-regularly, should be aware that Musk thinks himself an elite gamer, yet admits to paying others to play the games for him. The result of this is that Musk doesn't know how to do basic things in game like mute chat, which allows people to send him all kinds of nice messages live in game on stream.

Now I'm not going to promote sending people abusive messages, but some of these messages are just funny!

I wonder how the Saudis and banks will feel about that?

The Muskrat seems to think it's a product issue that makes people want to not buy Teslas, and also burn them.

I drive a Tesla. It's a great car. Just can't stand the stench of musk. Somebody please tell him.
It is? In what way?

That sounds a lot like Trumps play book, just on the real estate side of things.

I was more amused that this Top 10 POE2 player died so easily because he decided to just stand still and shoot at the enemy. You have to keep moving in these games, but I'm not an elite gamer like Musk I guess.

Well, you've inspired me into writing down what I like and dislike. This is what came quickly to mind, there's probably more.

Pros
  • Instant torque and quick acceleration. It’s quicker off the mark than our Corvette up to about 50-60 mph.
  • They absolutely nailed the one pedal driving experience. Most cars allow you tinker with the balance, but once Tesla got it perfect, they took that option out of the software.
  • The UI is great both in the iPhone app and in the car
  • Good ride with minimal road and wind noise
  • Automatic seat and steering wheel heating works really well
  • Remote control of the climate system via the app
  • Rear seats also have heaters which can be turned on ahead of time via the app. Our friends get in the car on a bitter winter night and let out sighs of delight, which is fun
  • Surprisingly responsive handling (I avoided a crash when I thought it would be inevitable)
  • FSD is not “full self driving” but it’s a great assist that adds safety and reduces fatigue. Has avoided at least one nasty crash that I didn’t see coming. I will re-subscribe when Musk steps down from Tesla. I might even do it earlier simply because of the safety angle. But it is nowhere near “full” self driving. Musk is delusional.
  • Tesla Supercharger network is fast, reliable, and well-located. And pricing is reasonable.
  • The car and app do a great job of planning charging stops on trips, that said, the last time I used a Supercharger was last October!
  • Prediction of State Of Charge along the route is astoundingly accurate
  • At-home charging is convenient and reliable, takes seconds to plug in and it works every time
  • Over-the-air software updates work great
  • Phone and watch as key is massively convenient
  • Sentry Mode & Dashcam features improve peace of mind and security. I can check on what the car is seeing while I’m, say, in a restaurant.
  • “Keep”, “Dog Mode” and “Camp Mode” are convenient
  • Spacious interior for 4 tall people
  • Great cargo space for its size, including the frunk and extra space in the rear
  • The glass roof creates a bright and airy feeling especially for rear seat passengers
  • I like the uncluttered interior appearance
  • Integrated Netflix etc podcasts etc are useful. For example, I drove the better half to a medical appointment in the city and watched an episode comfortably in the car
  • The Light Show, “emissions control” 💨, romantic fireplace, Santa mode etc are good fun. I like “whimsy” and there’s a lot of it in this car

Cons
  • Elon Musk
  • Finding the external and internal door handles in the dark can be hard. That's annoying (but not as annoying as Musk)
  • Elon Musk
  • No Apple Carplay (and while voice commands work well for me, it's not good at understanding dictated text messages)
  • Elon Musk
  • The automatic wipers sometimes do a single wipe on a dry day. They use the front cameras to detect rain, and it's not perfect
  • Elon Musk
