Wrong part of the forum. Unless you had a backup it's gone. Forever.

I dont see how it would loose the data but if it has gone its gone for good unless you have followed everybody's advice on here and made a backup of you game data.

So your data was completely gone when you restarted? Did you try rebooting the PS3 again to see if it was just a read error on the HDD? It's possible it may just be corrupted on your HDD. If you're tech savvy, there may be a way to swap it into a Laptop and check for sure. But this isn't the right section to be asking for that kind of help.

After hearing of people loosing data in the last month I've been backing up to two separate flash drives after every tune, Had my ps3 freeze numerous times while tuning on route x. Only lost the unsaved tune I'd been working on thankfully, now I'll back out of route x so it autosaves anytime I make progress on a tune so I don't loose it when it does freeze.

Make sure those flashdrives were formatted before saving, otherwise if you try to reload it back onto the PS3 it will say the flashdrive/data is corrupted and must be reformatted to be used. I think it likes Fat32 for PS3.

Yeah that's annoying when SSRX freezes.

The moral of this thread is

Back-Up your Data!!!

In theory, the only reason why data would be deleted in the first place is if the HDD is accessing it when the freeze/crash occurs. In that case, back up the saves on different user profiles on the PS3 and it will be safe if your current save file gets corrupted or deleted from this.

Yes, already did, I removed the crap software that came with the drive and reformatted, kept it FAT32, Good advice though:tup:

Don't know why Sony won't let the ps3 read NTFS.

So you can't transfer bootlegged PS3 games from the PC to the PS3. Don't ask me why I know this.

Why do you know this?

You remember what they did with the original Xbox console? Basically a giant emulator? I was thinking about the same thing for PS3 - it's called jailbreak. But then I can't play online so I decided not to do it.

I didn't even bother jailbreaking my PS3. If I want to do that I'll get a used PS3 somewhere.

Same with me. If Sony didn't ban you from psn I would jailbreak my ps3 too.

That and it's not exactly legal. Remember the whole ordeal with Anonymous hacking the PSN servers? It was all caused by the fuss Sony made over the jailbreak for the PS3.

If you hack a system you bought with your own money I think it should be legal to do whatever the hell you want with it.

I do have to agree with that, but unfortunately laws are laws, and jail breaking your own system is against them

You can jailbreak your ps3 all you want. It's what you do with that jailbroke PS3 that gets you into trouble...like logging into the PSN. ;)
