I have just completed the second race in the British Lightweights event on Top Gear Test Track but at the end of the race no results came up and my car just kept going round and round and round.

Also at the end of the Gran Turismo World Championship, I had won every race, came top but when I pressed exit after the final race the game froze again.

Both times I was using the TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM '00.

Anyone else had this problem?

I had the same problem after the Supercar Festival, Eifel track, too, but I just got a black screen and the music kept playing. Apparently, this is a bug/glitch response from the 1.10 update, most likely with the racing suits and helmets. The only fix right now is just quit the game or reset the console. But I could be wrong.

And for the GT World Champ: When it frozed, did a black screen came up and the GT5 logo appeared at the bottom-right?

At the end of the GT World Championship the screen remained exactly the same as if I hadn't pressed exit but the game wouldn't respond to anything I did. Both times I had to turn off the console.

Hopefully they'll release an update soon fixing it if it's just a glitch from the latest update then.

Turn off BGM music and sign out of PSN for A/B spec racing. It helped a lot of people.

Hopefully 1.11 will address it. Soon.

What about start of race freezing ? I get that sometimes , I know if you are in a lobby and all stay in the pits whilst the clock is running down it normally stops the black screen but, lots of people are getting black screens once the clock runs down and never getting out of it . Any reasons or for this or suggestions ?
What's the promblem with the gear ? How is this effecting our loading times or exits ???

Yes, a lot of people are getting the BSoD, or Black Screen of Death, right before the race starts, even me. The only reason is because of the 1.10 update, as It didn't happen before the update. And the gear is a possible problem because It's more data added to the game, which the game already has a bit too much of, and therefore won't be effectively process things properly. Of course, this is fully IMO.

The black screen before multi-player races have existed since day one. It generally only happens when someone leaves there pit box before a race and once they do the room is usually plagued with issue thereon. When this does occur (at Daytona for instance) the field will make one lap at 80 mph or so and you will start on lap 2. Its an unspoken rule in most rooms DON'T LEAVE YOUR PIT BOX, when I host a room there are no exceptions. If you leave the pits before a race I will reject you. The other people in the room didn't come to stare at a black screen 10 min. SPREAD THE WORD!

****! This just happened when I'd finished the Suzuka 1000 km endurance race. Was looking at the results screen, saved the replay and had just pressed "Exit" when the game froze... No experience, no credits, no prize car, but most annoyingly: I'm gonna have to do it all over again :(

Downer :(

Another day, another thread. Please see https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=209309

For "preventative" measures, please do the following:

1. Clear your system cache.
It's in your Network Options. No evidence that this helps, but it has been known to improve loading times in the past. If your PS3 talks to PDs servers, clear your system cache daily.

2. Disable custom soundtracks. Kaz mentioned this in a tweet a few weeks ago. Again, if your PS3 talks to PD servers (online races, Seasonal events, Remote Racing, item gifting- even the free paints and cards, etc.), you'd probably be better off listening to the car anyway. Most have reported a noticable improvement with Seasonals after doing this simple step.

3. Reset your internet connection before playing. See that power cord on the back of your modem? Yank it, then replace it BEFORE you power up your PS3 and access the network, let alone play GT5.

4. Pray to deity of choice. Might seem blasphemous, but who else are you going to call? (Ghostbusters is too obvious) Maybe YOU will be the lucky one Jesus/Mohammed/Allah/Xenu/Santa/Tooth Fairy will answer, and maybe they'll grant your one wish to fix your games and PS3. Probably not, though.

If all that fails, proceed to Sony customer support. They're about as useful as #4 anyway.

Good luck

Amazing what the search feature finds.
