Endurance/Championship Save Feature

i'd hate to tell you tech support guys how to use a thread on a forum, but here goes... most people use them to post on-topic responses... :)

I've never had this problem, but I'm betting the button is getting pressed by accident by the cat or your kids or something. Try this: when you pause, don't leave the cursor on the 'resume' button, where it defaults to. Select the quick options menu, then select something (unimportant) in there so that it would take a few button presses to go back into the race. And hide your controller lol.

I'm going to try disconnecting the wheel and putting the DS3 in the garage! No pets, and the kids sleep with us, so we'd know if one went AWOL (plus my son is only 14 months so couldn't reach).

If the issue goes away, I'll then reinstate the wheel and move the cursor to the quick option icon as you've suggested.

It's certainly a curly one - will keep you posted...

@glw - sorry to upset you, but given that nothing has been implemented in game yet, my pause issues and consequential requirements for a save feature are as relevant as anything else posted. People keep posting suggestions for me to try, which is very kind of them. As a result, I'm taking the time to respond to them on the off chance that it may help others that have experienced the same issue (and thus also need a save function). Note that I am also engaged in an on-topic discussion with SimonK, although this is mainly because I am interested in the subject and not to keep the thread police happy.

Indeed, and it's kinda why Endurances races are pointless and very boring in GT games. In the real world you have so many things to worry about whilst driving, knowing a crash could put you in the garage for three hours, or a puncture could set you back considerably amongst others. In GT5 with no damage and no mechanical failures it is just driving for 24 hours, there is none of the challenge and excitement that a real endurance race brings.

I haven't done a single endurance race yet because of the reasons you stated. With no damage (mechanical at least), there's really no point for those races to be in or for me to complete them. I'm gonna wait until they patch the damage in before attempting any of them.

The only Enduro I have done was the Indy 500 because I really wanted the Jag. I did enjoy the race but a 2+ hour stint on the one (all be it boring) track in one hit was more than enough for me. To be able to break a 24hr race up over a few days is ideal IMO. To the extremists that want to sit there for 24hr straight thats fine but i dont have the time (3 kids) or want to do that. And it's not realistic as a single driver does not do 24hr straight IRL.

Just my opinion :)

I'm all for an endurance save feature. At the end of the day this is a video game and there's no way I'm going to attempt to play for 24 or even 9 hours straight even if I can pause the race. Imagine trying to play through Uncharted or Fallout 3 without being able to save your game.

Not having a game save for a 24 hour race is just brain-dead...especially in this era of energy conservation.

Though I barely have a life anyway. I think this feature will to useful to those who do, not many want to play for 24 hours straight.

It's also funny that the booklet with the game like all others tells you to take a 15 minute break for every hour of gameplay. So they're actually asking you to keep your console on for at least 30 hours.
