How likely is it that there's time progression for the Endurance Hall events? More specifically, the Nrburgring 24hr race?

Surely KY wouldn't have wanted to include this sort of thing if you had to race during the day for 24hrs straight? Or am I expecting things to get too realistic?

Do you mean time compression? I believe that's the correct term.....

Anyway, I think if time compression isn't the case, then you'll be able to save at various points in the race.

No, I mean time progression, as in visible time progression. If your truly racing for 24hrs, is the sky going to change from day to night?

Time progression. I would have thought that racing for 24hrs all throughout the day wouldn't have been KY's style, him being so anal about realism etc.

Ah, that would make a lot more sense. I misunderstood, I apologize.

I would think IF the race is actually 24 hours long that the environment would change. Perhaps that's KY's suprise?

But I still find it pretty unlikely that the race would actually be 24 hours long. It'd be grueling and blister forming.

Oh **** Cudaman! I remember you were the guy that inspired me to look for a MR2 as my first car like 2 years ago lol.

Heh, that was a long time ago! So did you get one? Want to buy mine? :)

As for the topic at hand, I would really be surprised if PD made the Nurburgring 24H race a full 24 hours.

Unfortunately the insurance over here for an AW11 MR2 would be over £1500, so I'll have to settle for another and build up my no-claims for a few years :(

Apparently the reward for the Nurb 24 hours is an F1 car, but I'm not sure if anything is worth 24 hours....

Why would they call it 24hr if it wasn't '24 hours'

They could have called it Nurburgring 20 or something to indicate 20 laps or something. I dunno, I just hope that if it is a full 24hr race, that the environment doesn't stay static.

Time progression would be nice...

And thats some damned high insurance... of course, I just get liablity on my AW11.. but its like... 1600 USD a year.

AW11 MR2's are awesome, thats why I have 2, and one with a 20 valve.. although its dead at the moment. But great cars.

Don't ask me. Was only an idea I figured would be logical.

Perhaps they called it 24hr to represent the real race on that track with only 6 of the however many cars really participate in that race....

No,but KSaiyu did.He posted it over at the "GT4 Prize Car List" topic.

well, that thread says there's a 4 hr version and a 24hr version. Anyway, im just gonna wait and see how this one pans out.

And don't forget about the 9 hr Tskuba race, which you'd also think would include time progression.

i looked on that thread and it said

Le Sarthe 24 hours1 - Audi R8 '01

so therefore there is a 24 hour race ....,,, yes or no?

The Nurburgring at night would be double hell in the dark, with no street lighting like all the other night tracks in GT the headlamps would have to be seriously good :scared:

I doubt that you'd be expected to sit in front of a screen for 24 hours straight!

Even if this was the case, you'd think that you'd be able to hit pause or something...

p.s

Maybe we expected to do what they REALLY do in 24 hour races.

ie. Get a couple of mates to help out NOBODY

I love the idea about a 24 hour race. Do they let you pull into the pits and save? Or should you invite a few buddies over and do driving stints like real race teams? Sounds like a cool party idea!!

That's great idea :) - to get friends to help you with driving.

Still, 24hrs race would be harsh, because you can't not go pee for 24hrs. At least I can't :D. Hell, I even couldn't hold 2 hours Endurance races in GT3, because I had to drink some water while driving.

pausing for a couple of hours is no problem but puasing for 24h ,thats just wasting electricty ,and what happens if sombody unplugged teh PS2 and you in the 12th hour :(

it would be interesting if the race would switch between A and B spec modes during a 24 hour race. I am under the impression that the same person doesnt race 24 hours straight in Lemans and the like.. am i right? i don't know for sure. It would be nice if that was the build up to your A and B Spec skill level. I heard that your AI seems to get better in Bspec mode the more you race in it.. so it would be cool if the 24 hour was your final challenge, and you would race the first 6 hours, then you would put your B Spec racer to the test to see if he can hold his own for another 6 hours and keep your position and so on... would be my ideal 24 hour race :D later-

you would have a mental breakdown and beat them to death with the plug.

just an option, alternatively you could see the computer do it B-spec mode while you adjust the rate of impacts.
