Famine
I'm 100% sure. They keep on going and going.

That is weird. Once your hypothetical 2CV has reached 1000 laps and effectively beaten you, will the race stop or does he just keep going forever until you cross the line?

Also, is it the case that if you cross the line at, say, 23:59.59hrs and the second place car is just behind and on the same lap as you, if he crosses the line after 24hrs will he be given the first place as he has got more laps? I remember reading that this was the case for GT3, but I’ve never had a close enough finish to find out.

I might not have phrased this very well, but I hope Famine or someone can clarify and explain this a little better.

The hypothetical 2CV will win - having completed 1000 laps in 41 days, to your 999 completed laps in 1 day - but will continue on his warm-down (as will everyone else) until you cross the line.

Your second instance isn't necessarily true - as long as you go on to finish the next lap ahead of him, you'll win. However, if you finish the next lap BEHIND him, he'll win.
