How can you tell when to do an engine overhaul? Ive been using my X1 prototype for a while in Bspec and have only changed the oil when it needs.

Go to the GT Auto shop... It should be the engine picture 3rd from the right side... Says Overhaul Engine.. Just make sure you got enough cash to overhaul it.. Some cars are really expensive...

He said how can you tell, not how do you do. You can tell when oil changes no longer restore your motor to full power. Example you have 500hp after racing for a while its 470hp. You change oil and it only goes up to 495hp, ding ding time to rebuild motor. Over time it will lose power and never get it back no matter.

How much power does your Bob really need? I would just keep changing the oil until it gets down to something really sad, like 1200HP. Even then it might be a waste. I overhauled my engine when the hp after oil change got down under 1500. I thought about it afterwords and realized Bob was doing fine with the 1495HP...waste of 500k imo. Right now, Bob's X2010 is down to something like 1452 and I have no intention of rebuilding any time soon. He still crushes the competition.

Edit: For example, Bob is currently 23 hours into the 24 hour Nurburgring endurance race and is 53 laps up on the 2nd place car in his worn down X2010 lol. *lurks more and waits impatiently to finish the last B-Spec endurance race*

Snap... My bad... But yeah... After a few races with the X2010 it loses about 20-25 BHP.. Then it's time to change oil and you get all the BHP back.. But after a few championships it will probably lose about 100-150..

Mine has 1557 BHP fully maxed out... And it often drops to 1400ish if you don't change oil... So I change oil after every 3-4 races and a overhaul after 15 or so... But thats just me ;)

Hope that was a better answer ;)

yes i understand that, but for another car i might want to do it that does not have that much HP.

This X2010 engine needs it. Its down to 1300HP and has 77,000 miles on it.

I never drive it and when Bob starts to lose races then it might get done.

Since I grind Dreamcar at Indy, I've had my X1 down to about 1350hp. An oil change brought it back up to around 1420hp and an engine overhaul brought it back up to its optimum.
