yeah....I'm like totally stuck on 35th. I thought pipping high 56s would be do able but I can only reach 57.7 in recent attempts.

AUSnicko9: If I with my sixaxis can do it - trust me - anyone can. The goal is to be as fluent as possible and know exactly where your car is on the road. Even just take it up to the wall and make a mental note where it is in comparison with something else in view (e.g. the steering wheel if you use the interior view). Eliminating any sidwards action is a must as of the evora's long gear ratio and relative low power mean that all it does is slow the engine - and this means you have to accelerate again, which can almost be considered a lengthy procces.

HaHa sorry Ripping_Silk, thats the idea though, to try different cars, makes it more intresting i think.

yeah.. .uh.. .thanks. :crazy: To be honest I have no problem with the car but the track is awful ! Its a track that has no room for mistakes, because of the walls and because of the length. Other, longer tracks a mistake can often be made up on a section of track where you might be a little faster. For example at Suzuka, I seem to do well in T1, namely the 'esses', and that can often make me time that I might lose at say, Casio. Here at London, if you make a mistake, game over man. It certainly rewards accurate and consistent driving, two things that I don't do so well ! Its such a fine line between somewhere and nowhere!
Interesting ? I'd still debate that. Frustrating? , oh you betcha ! :banghead:
Certainly I have a lot of admiration for those higher up on the board.. your times are to me... untouchable ! :boggled:
 
That surprises me, as you had a brilliant time on race 1,im sure with practise your be top 5 or maybe this just isnt a track you do well on, i know all the tracks pretty well and although im not usually the fastest im always up near the top [within 0.5 of anybody any track].

maybe Race one was an anomaly ! :sly: I've knocked almost another 2 tenths in the last hour or so, and feel like I'm a bit more switched on to whats needed now, but top 5? surely you jest! :lol: I can see perhaps another 2 tenths now, and I can see whats needed for top 5 but I'm not sure I'm capable of that. Still, given another 300 laps who knows ?:D
 
Your right ripping_silk. It is very frustrating, but also awesome when you do nail a good lap. You can't make any mistake as you say, but that's the idea on any track. When I was doing the IFTC, you had to nail a near perfect lap every race.(I only did the last two) But doing the IFTC and nailing near perfect laps every lap in Time Trials made me a much faster driver.

Great time Sinibomb. It's so close up the top. A couple of hundredths of a seconds and you'll gain a place!

I agree with Ripping...... London is not a favorite of mine, but my major issue is time. I work 6 days a week most weeks at 10-12 hrs per day, and when i'm not at work i have a marriage to maintain :sly:, sleep to catch up on and a life to live :crazy: which doesn't leave me much time to put toward practicing getting this or any TT right in terms of a lap that i can say "I'm happy with that".

For example the first challenge i got a total of 9 clean laps in to set my time, and this challenge so far the lap count sits at 12. It's obviously not enough to be competitive, but i have to accept it. Any time on GT5:P is a good break from reality, so i'm not too unhappy.

I'd love nothing more than putting a few hrs in every couple of days for TT'ing as i love to set hotlaps more than racing online, but unfortunately thats how it is....... so my current time will have to do. It's not a bad time, but i feel i could find a few tenths as the track is coming to me..... and finally i have to agree with Mad also, my current lap did feel good with no oversteer, clean corner entries and exits and of course a half decent time!
 
I have to try and not play GT5:P as often as well. I'm in year 9 at High school and starting to get more and more Homework.:grumpy: So that means less and less time for GT5:P. But I'm still able to get enough time at the moment to be competitive, but in the senior years I may struggle to be as competitive as what I am now.

just 12 laps to set your time ? I'd be over the moon ! The only way I can get halfway to competitive is attack with brute force, many many laps over many many hours.
My times are set on the same principle as the 'monkeys and piano' adage. that is, if you put enough monkeys in front of a piano enough times, one of them will eventually play Beethoven's 5th.

There is like a 2-3 lap window of good pace between warming up and trying too hard for me

I managed to get into the 56's with a 56.7

Might catch up to you if i can get the last 2 corners right

I know JUST what you mean. You have to be in a certain headspace to have a good session. Sometimes I'll do nothing but hit walls, so its give up and leave it a while. But I just took another 10th out 2 minutes ago. point 391 now.

Same here! Sadly there's no Gran Turismo when i was a teen.
 
going to have one more short go tomorrow to see if i can get to top spot....than i have to submit my time because i am going to NewYork sunday for 9 days....luckaly will be back intime to have a quick go at round 3...

I was following you around a few hours ago. You've got the .15 in there easy. Your losing that much even to me in the sweeping turn 2 and three. Of course you walk away everywhere else !:dopey:
Better get you driving boots on though, looks like Mad94d is on the move !

yeah,it wasn't a perfect lap indeed...last few corners are good,but these first few can be done better...will see if my boots fit tomorrow...:sly:

I just had a run for about 45 minutes. Improved by 0.1. But jumped markyboy and Sinibomb. So I'm happy with that. Now I just need another 0.03 and I'll have spyrrari.:lol:

HaHa yeah, i thought i change my name because i am no longer on the gtp team so GTP_markyboy was no good and i picked boy racer because thats what ill probably be when i pass my test.

56.271 almost identical time.

i ran a few laps today and got my ranking down to 63rd with 57.526 down .500 for my last run
 
Super Super time:tup:, but i think you would agree theres still abit to come off, e.g your T1 was average but T2&T3 was immense.
