I was just kidding about the 2 points - sheeeeeesh this crew needs to lighten up if we are gonna get all the way through this competition.

As for GTP_FOX's replay, I think its dirty. Coming out of turn 2 just before the bridge you go from 89mph up to 98mph and it flickers to 99mph and drops back to 98mph just as you touch the wall on the right side. There is no application of braking there or throttle change so the speed decrease must be due to a light bump on the wall. I can have another NTSC driver (like Vaxen or EDK) review it if you want a second opinion but the evidence is pretty obvious.

Great run otherwise, I saw quite a few areas while watching it that explained my slowness.

Thanks for checking, LinPark. I watched it again too. It is very close and difficult to say. And there's no sound of banging the wall coming out of it.
I do notice the speed flickered. However i think it's because the right rear tire being upset as it climbed up the thick curb. Don't want to an ass, but can I have a second opinion? :nervous: Thanks guys.

I can take a look after I finish dinner fox 👍

Edit: Can anyone tell me how to upload the file to my PS3? I downloaded his replay file but am unable to unzip it in order to put it onto my USB card. Do I even need to unzip the replay?

yes you have to unzip it

I use 7-Zip to unzip it - he gave us the entire directory underneath PS3/SAVEDATA so just unzip it and move it into that area on your USB and you should be all set.

I could not unzip the file with winzip for some reason. It gave me this message "Cannot open file: it doesn not appear to be a valid archive"

Maybe I'll try and download (overwrite) the file one more time.

Guys, I brought up this replay thing earlier. I asked for everyone's opinion, no one replied so I assumed everyone liked the rules the way they were. So would people like it to be like the IFTC and everyone has to submit a replay? I personally think it's fairer this way but everyone said no, now everyone's saying they want this. I"m confused.....

I think the issue, is that no rules were in place, apart from "no wall touches" and "races must be done online". Fox took it upon himself to send you a replay, and I may well have done the same if I was in the top ten and my online lap was 'dirty'.
Taking the rules as they read, I would say that if you set a 'dirty' top ten time, there is no avenue to 'not' be disqualified unless you set a faster 'clean' lap.
However this I would suggest is unfair, as the top ten drivers are invariably capable of a clean lap that would better those out of the top ten.
But, there was nothing to say that you could send in a legitimate clean lap, and perhaps most assumed that if your leaderboard lap was dirty, you were disqualified.
I'm saying that given the opportunity, all DQ'ed drivers could probably have set a clean recorded lap that would have kept them close to the position they had before being DQ'ed. But nothing was posted to say that this was acceptable, but the rules they suggest that it is not.
As it stands, those out of the top ten do not get their laps scrutinised and could 'possibly' submit a dirty time, and yet not be DQ'ed. Plainly this isn't fair either.
This is my opinion, and I have no interest in swaying the organisers decision either way. But its an issue, and quite a major one.

You made a good point, ripping_silk. I didn't get this suggestion from the rules. I thought the rules only say the lap must be done online. If the replay shows the PSN ID, then it's done online. It didn't say the submitted lap has to be the one registered on the ranking server. After all, once you've registered a fastest but dirty lap online, you would be really lucky to run a clean lap to beat the dirty one.

Now it's all up to you guys and the organizers. If you think it's unacceptable, then I am more than happy to be DQed. I have enhanced my skills and had fun anyway.

I think the rules are a little too loose and open to interpretation.
I'm not offering an opinion either way as it might be deemed as bias..... because I would make up a postion on you. :) So I would prefer to abstain from this vote.

I'm thinking that we should have the laps done online and if your leaderboard lap is dirty, you are able to submit and provide a replay.

Another idea is for everyone to set a lap online, and people outside the top ten post a replay here.

Tell me what you think about these changes.
Thanks

EDIT: Going out, will be back later tonight to see what you think.

I vote to make this round null and void...... thus taking the issue away all together.

I said ages ago about if 'your top ten lap was dirty',create a new EYS account or w/e, ok FOX's lap has been checked linpark and he says it dirty so it will be DQ'ed fair?

Everybody knew no dirty laps were allowed and they still set them so all i can say its there fault.......

Got work now will do results as soon as i get back so ripping can do the standings.

My $0.02 .
If you allow replays then holl01 should be allowed in ,since he is not, then replays are not part of "Enhance Your Skills" challenge.

I reckon we should keep it as is. It's too much hassle to get files off a ps3, zip them etc.
If you are in top 10 and hit a wall - unlucky
If you are out of the top ten, there is a chance to abuse the rules, but shame on you if you do.

Please don't make this round not count, I had such a good lap

Yea exactly, if your not 100% sure its clean consider it dirty.

Yep, I agree. I reckon we keep the rules the same. These rules are exactly the same as the GT time trial competition, and they didn't have any problems. Come on guys, you know when your lap is dirty when your driving. Just hit the brakes and abandon the lap please, that's what I do.

+1...and lets keep it this way. It minimises post lap effort for everyone

Thats more like it:tup:
Instead of people trying to find faults and argue we finally argee on something[most of us].

WinZip doesn't like the replays posted in these threads for some reason - I get that same message if I just double-click the zip file after I download it - 7-Zip hasn't failed me yet - I simply right click the file and do "Extract here" and then right click that file and do "Extract here". It usually dumps the files somewhere and I have to put them in the PS3/SAVEDATA area. Hope this helps you out for future replays.

 People are finding faults because there are faults to be found and issues that need to be resovled.

Personally I think TT's only work if EVERYONE submits a replay. At the minute your only checking the top 10 guys. Say one week nobody got in the top 10. What would you do...

People hitting 11th each week maybe hitting the walls and wallriding to get that position. Cheating people out of points.

If you made everyone submit replays, guys like holl01 could join in.

Just my $.02 but its your comp 👍

Thats true i guess as fox posted a lap we should allow others like holl to collect points as he also showed a replay, but i never asked anybody to post a lap as far as i remember, maybe mad94d did.

ok, fair enough. I will be more careful next time then.
