so many idiotic statements I dont know where to begin...

First of all your personal attacks prove you are an immature lil kid. (probably no older than 22? let me know if I am correct)

Now lets move on to me gutting your ignorance....

Sure....and its HARD as hell, it takes months of experience, and anyone who does it will be the first to tell you its nothing like really flying IN a plane (for example). They dont attach a camera on a 747 to train a pilot on flying a 747 jacka55. Thats why they use sims. And Sims might I add that are no where near 100% The purpose of a sim is to not recreate reality....its to recreate the experience. These are 2 totally different things. I mean damn this is like simulation 101 crap. I learned this stuff first year when developing virtual reality for medical companies.

ok so you also dont need to see whats up the road a few hundred feet while going 150mph+? yep thats realism....give me 5 vertical pixels to see a turn down the road.

Thanks for proving my point. These industrial sims (which I have used) have everything you need for a true sim. They simulate G's from hydrolics, wrap around peripheral screen, insane high resolution, and shutter glasses for depth perception. And even then they tell you its no where near a 100% accurate sim.

So untill you have about 2 million to get a setup like that in your house....keep your mouth shut dummy.

lol has nothing to do with being "weakminded". If a sim is 100% its just that. And would take no getting use to. Case in point. If there ever was such a thing as 100% that simulated EVERYTHING perfectly. I wouldnt need a "strongmind" to drive that car.....I would be able to hop in and go, and it would feel completely natural. Of course I would need to practice to drive the car fast just as in RL, but driving the car itself would feel natural and I would not need to get used to that.. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FULL FLEDGED SIM.

No its cause a lot of these games lack depth and more importantly MARKETING.
you really have no clue as to the way the world works.

as a side note I did play GTR (german release) I found it MUUUUCH easier to control the cars than in GT4. Game is great and I love it.....but if you think thats a TRUE sim (as you like to say) you are way off.

Yeah I guess I would be pissed if I were you to....cause it sounds like you have a defective GT4 there.....cause on my game I cant drive full throttle into turns.

But hey big man....if GT4 is not good enough for your PC gaming snobby ass. why are you here? Also I would love to see some of your lap times in GT4.....if its so easy for you I'm sure you must have some amazing times. Why dont you share them with us? Hell I will take it a step further....name a game that you feel squashes GT4 is realism, and I will race you in it. Lets see who wins.

Ok great so all I have to do is stop driving a real car for about 10 years and MY mind will recreate everything for me....WOW what a bad example you gave. Hell I might as well take it a step further and take out one of my eyeballs so that in years to come my mind can recreate depth perception. wait wait wait.....I will remove my cerebellum so I cant sense G's in RL

You really have no idea at all about anything and should stop right now.

A blind persons brain is FORCED to use its other senses cause it has no CHOICE. And even with the minds ability to adapt a blind person still has to use a walking stick to go anywhere. And any kind of "free roaming" they can do is based on years and years of adapting. NOT something you can do to recreate G forces in a game or depth perception.

After reading all your ingnorance, I can see now why you dont like GT4.....ITS BEYOND YOU.

Well so you dont attack me, all I got to say is wow.

Well so you dont attack me, all I got to say is wow.

Im only attack when provoked.....I just really have a thing with game snobs.

Why bash GT4 on a GT4 message board? I know that GT4 is not perfect. And I also know that its not for everyone. But to come here when you hate GT4 is just stupid.

He is just someone who is starving for attention. And probably couldnt race in RL if his life depended on it. So maybe he wants to believe that a game can simulate real racing 100% cause he doesnt have the balls to do it in RL. :)

I'm really a nice guy I swear :)

Well you got that right real life it isnt. I think some people dont understand that its just a GAME....
I wounder how many people here have realy raced a car.

Hey there, guys. Just thought I'd pop on here for a sec and mention something.

These are Games we're discussing. Entertainment for the masses...or at least a bunch of folks with sometimes wildly varying expectations.

Personally, I'm just glad I'm having an enjoyable time Playing, because I gotta say, you'll never find me out racing at those speeds with real cars...I'd be scared poopless. So, play GT4 now, play Enthusia when it becomes available, heck, type in "Nascar Simulations" in your favorite search engine and try out one of those bad boys. Whatever. You're apparently never going to agree with each other so you might as well get off your soap boxes and stop trying to figure out how to insult each other without a moderator being sicced on you.

Maybe someone will actually invent holodecks and we'll all be happy......

Enthusia will be the crappest rip off piddle take of GT4 ever. Only poor tramps with limp-wrist problems will buy it over GT4

You do buy it over GT4, you obviously are STUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPIIIIDDDD!

Hey I agree with what you are saying....and I probably should have toned it down a bit. But most of what he is saying is not an opinion about a game....its flawed logic about how the mind interrupts playing these games.

If he had said "I dont really care for GT4, and I like the way GTR feels" I would have respected that....cause that would be opinion.

sorry if I went 2 far....but it was to hard to ignore (or should I say to easy?) :)

Wow, so 22 year olds are considered to still be little kids? I apologize for indirectly calling you a dumbass but good job at continuing the name calling like the mature adult you are. 👍

LOL, You actually thought I implied they attached cameras to vehicles for training purposes? We do it when it is either too dangerous to have a human in the vehicle or when the vehicle is too small. And no it does not take months of experience. I and several members of my team have flown aircraft from taking off to landing only using radio control and visuals through a mounted camera. Most of us have had years of videogame experience but those who have not especially our guys from India sill were able to manipulate the vehicles with ease on their first tries.

Recreating an experience is recreating a sense of reality, it seems you are missing the scope. 100% sim by pure definition would mean it would kill you if you crashed. When I am speaking of sim I am only referring to the program and its accuracy of physics calculations.

ok so you also dont need to see whats up the road a few hundred feet while going 150mph+? yep thats realism....give me 5 vertical pixels to see a turn down the road.

I never said I don’t need to see a corner but I guess you have a crappy camera, any decent camera should give you enough visual information to negotiate an upcoming corner ever at 150mph.

Thanks for proving my point. These industrial sims (which I have used) have everything you need for a true sim. They simulate G's from hydrolics, wrap around peripheral screen, insane high resolution, and shutter glasses for depth perception. And even then they tell you its no where near a 100% accurate sim.

[/qoute]

I was referring only to the programs which can be successfully used with a single flat monitor and without hydraulics. You don’t need all your sense to be stimulated in order to operate these vehicles.

lol has nothing to do with being "weakminded". If a sim is 100% its just that. And would take no getting use to. Case in point. If there ever was such a thing as 100% that simulated EVERYTHING perfectly. I wouldnt need a "strongmind" to drive that car.....I would be able to hop in and go, and it would feel completely natural. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FULL FLEDGED SIM.

I agree about the natural feeling, the better the simulation the more comfortable I am driving. I have much harder times with racing games that are unrealistic because I am expecting the car to behave in a way I experienced in real life.

A lot of other people have a misconception of what they should be able to do and are not able to adjust their perception of reality because they are accustomed to relying on extra stimulations. Now even with all the stimulations present a lot of people have a hard time operating a real car without aids such as TCS and ASM. These aids would not exist if everyone had the brain capacity to drive effectively without them. So yes, a lot of it relies on the adeptness of the person.

No its cause a lot of these games lack depth and more importantly MARKETING.

Those too were factors of their success but most reviews of the games stressed a negative view that these games were too hard because they were too realistic.

When I think of depth of a game, the depth of the physics is the first thing that comes to mind. I am aware this is not the most important aspect to everyone though.

Yeah I guess I would be pissed if I were you to....cause it sounds like you have a defective GT4 there.....cause on my game I cant drive full throttle into turns.

I dont mind, name the track and the car.

You really have no idea at all about anything and should stop right now.

As long as you have the brain capacity to operate without those senses you would be good to go. Depth perception is just that...PERCEPTION. Stereo vision does help especially when the image is static but as soon as movement comes into play, your experience

Oh so you do know about adapting but your time scale is a little off and you are taking the analogy off into some other tangent. It doesn’t take years, not even months unless the person has some brain damage as well.

After reading all your ingnorance, I can see now why you dont like GT4.....ITS BEYOND YOU.

You got me all wrong, I like GT but I won’t be so inept to say it is the best it can be.

Oh but I do race in real life and I have quite a few tropheys to show for it(Karting and Rally racing and a couple of auto cross events).

I dont hate GT4 but until it is the best sim out there I will always be critical and wont give it any slack for cutting corners that dont have to be cut when it comes the physical act of driving.

Well Gek54 you didnt seem to grasp what I was saying and/or avoided most of what I said. And thats fine....I really dont want to dirty this thread up anymore with our mess.

I could argue back on all your points, but in the end you wont get what I am saying....and perhaps I dont get what you are saying. I dont care anymore.

So anyway..when you wanna race? :)

Have to Agree there....Konami make some of the best games around.

I cant wait to try out Enthusia, I'm sure it will be damn entertaining.

Some ppl are saying its too easy, some are saying its more sim then GT4.

So what is it?

Tiptopcream, you are playing with DS2,DF,DFP?

tiptopcream
Wasn't this supposed to be on the simmy side of things? It feels like a new Ridge Racer game after playing for 30 minutes, very poor. :(

well after WWIII above im glad to see that the thread is gettin back to normality:) i entered this thread with the thought enthusia could be great and will be better than forza. when i went to the enthusia website and saw that they say 'its about time spent behind the wheel not the time spent under the hood' i thought that sounds great...second thought was...i love fine tuning my mine's skyline - did in gt3 will do in gt4. i totally loved the things that were said about how GT perfectly captures the experience of driving and the feel of driving rather than capturing real life. i always looked for a definition like that now i have it. thanks! as for enthusia i love that theme song and what we shouldnt forget is that its konami! no matter what genre if these guys go at something and they usually go hard they dont stop until its perfect and im not talkin perfect sim or perfect gt killer but perfect as in a stand alone exlcusive gaming experience. if enthusia is konamis contribution to the racing of 2005 and they really pushed it i dont care if its too much sim or too much whatever ill love it.
on another note someone said something about bmws havin a special degree of refinement in gt4 and i do have to say the physics are excellent but take for instance the csl. go to the ring one day and chill at the side of the track, wait until a csl comes around and youll be killed man because that thing sounds like an early 90s DTM car and i mean a 101%. if u sit in it its even more hardcore and in the game its a lil harsher than the regular one so im not too sure about the bms bein expecially handpicked.

ps: ill buy enthusia because of one reason: 1990 M3 Evolution - PD what happened, where were you, what can we do to help?:)

I was just playing it. I started with a Beetle, which was mostly easy to control and win races. Then I unlocked a Camaro so I felt like try it out. Damn, I can´t make a good turn, it oversteers every time. Very hard, but very entertaining.

I'm using the Driving Force and the thing that hits you first is the force feedback effects, which are complete crap. Very weak effects - I can barely feel them, and it only rumbles when you go off track, hit a kurb and when you land after a jump. On the main mode side of things I've got just over 700 points and I won all races without a problem, the AI seems really slow up to now too. Maybe it will get more challenging when my ranking is higher, but so far meh! :banghead:

If you drive powerful cars at the edge, they drift... that is in fact more realistic as GT...

Hmm, honestly my copy is still on its way from HK and so I just have to try to guess... but in GT the force feedback effects are often a little strong I think... Cars today have servo steering, and even if you race really hard ( I drive a STi, and I push it to its limits on a daily basis ;) ) steering is always rather smooth and easygoing... so maybe you got used to the GT response of the DFP... but again, I haven't played it, but other members like the DFP steering in Enthusia... so....

Gek54
and....Winning Eleven series, ZOE2. Konami has been knocking out some of the best games recently. Where have you been?

And Silent Hill!!

Konami make some of the best games in different genres, so I expect something from Enthusia!?

Maybe you should check your wheel settings, I only have the NON PRO DF and it has really strong force feedback. As for winning races easily, thats your choice as stated by many other through out this forum, you can add every mod to a car to blow away the competition, or you can leave it all stock and have a battle on your hands. I think PD made us have this choice. Which is good as the not so good players can mod there car up a little to make it easier.

I TOTALLY agree. That's exactly what I thought about Enthusia after playing it for a while. It's like a new version of Ridger Racer that's "trying" to be realistic. Sure, you can drift in Enthusia (as much as you want), but that doesn't mean it's realistic. You can drift in Mario Kart too...LOL

But in the drifting area GT4 is flawed...it's almost impossible to drift or do donuts. I think that's why a lot of people think GT4 is not realistic.

The game looks a bit too cartoon-esque for my taste.

I probably will not buy this game, because it might upset my GT4 balance. :sly:
