watched it, graphics are abit bland, but the cars look superb, and react to turns and stuff very well. Looks like it could be a winner.

I read the game will be a cross between a simulation and an arcade style game. I guess the lack of a sophisticated physics engine will allow Konami to spend a little more time on car and track detail.

So far, this title looks like it has a lot of promise.

This game looks v-good but konami arn't strangers to the racing genre (shock horror  ) If anyone can remeber "Konami Rally" which was out in 2000 for the PSX. I liked that game it wasn't bad, this should be another good game to play, Enthusia that is. My PS2 is guna be worn out :)

PD doesn't have to worry about Forza the true rival is Enthusia. Wow that game looks tight  Forza is crap compared to Enthusia imo, the cars in Forza look as if they are floating on the road Enthusia looks so much like GT4.

Don't forget Konami's "Racing Jam" and "GTi club" arcade cabinets. Those games were sweet!

Just visited http://www.enthusia-racing.com and if you sit through the intro movie as it first loads at the end it say 08. 19, then coming soon. Could that be a release date? The 19th of August seems a little too soon (considering not a single word has come out about it since E3) so maybe not. Weird.

I tried to download it from your link RedOak but it said the file doesn't exist or whatever. :(

WHOA! This is August now. COuld it be possible that Enthusia has been in the works for a months, but just now, they are surprising us with it? Maybe they have, and they are just now keeping us thinking it's still in the works and making us want it so bad, and then suddenly, SELL IT, so they can get sales.

Anyways, if Enthusia is released this month or even next, it can take sales away from GT4.

Also, now GT5 has to be NOT only better than GT4, but now better than Enthusia.
So, So it seems PD will ahve 2 things to beat with GT5.

The game itself has been in development for 2 years, and I'm pretty sure it is not coming out in August. The developer of the game said himself it will be coming out sometime in 2005.

I will buy it as well. This game will surely be GT4s greatest competitor. This game surely will pose a threat.

"Enthusia features groundbreaking gameplay mechanics" How long will it be before they tell us what they are.

Well, I will definitely buy this game, but I don't think it poses a threat to the GT series... Here is an example to explain my reasoning:

Enthusia steps away from the norm in the racing genre, opting to focus on the driving experience rather than the time spent “under the hood.” Winning will require superior driving ability, establishing Enthusia as a true racer for driving enthusiasts who appreciate the details of car physics, performance and motion. The realism of the game is bolstered by the innovative and proprietary Visual Gravity System which conveys a true sense of G-forces experienced by high-speed driving and maneuvering around a race track. This innovative feature is a first for the racing genre and gives gamers the ability to see and “feel” the pressure exerted on a car during racing.

If what they say is correct, it will be a fantastic game, and offer a very realistic driving experience.... However, if it is more generic in the tuning department (like TXR3 or NFS:U) it can't possibly be as indeapth as the GT experience, and thus will not pose much of a threat IMHO....

ummm... the "visual gravity system"? Hehe, I don't know what the hell that means either.

I think it is something like the G-Force meter on the HUD in GT4. So if it comes out after GT4, it won't be that innovative. ;) :)

Until we see how in depth they will go into, it's pure speculation as to which game will implement the feature the best. :)

Well that's not true though is it?.... They have already stated that they will not go into much deapth in the tuning department, in a few different interviews/articles (including the previously posted)... So, we do not need to see anything to know that the tuning will not be as indeapth as GT4... However, I do agree that without either game present, it's hard to prove such theories.... When the game comes out, you will see....

As far as driving physics are concerned, I am really excited to possibly have another game (in addition to GT) with realistic physics, and the graphics look fantastic.... This game is making me a lot more excited than Forza is... IMHO, Forza's graphics (car models especially) don't look even half as realistic (or accurate) as GT4's.... However, all the tuning options make it interesting nonetheless....

I'll be buying both Enthusia and Forza (will most likely buy an X-Box for it)... I buy every driving game that shows any promise....

That's the spirit! Just don't get yourself into debt. The amount of good games coming out is going to be hard on the wallet.

Indeed... However, I have most of the interesting games preordered (and near complete or completely payed for)... I love doing this, because then the day it comes out, I can go to the shop pick up my game (with no money exchanged) and it feels like they are giving me a present... Like Christmas...

Also, it further seperates/blurs the reality of how much I actually spent on the games....

;)

I don't trust EB games enough to put more than the 5 dollar deposit down. They've screwed me before with "computer accidents".

I don't have an EB Games anywhere near me... I either go to GameCrazy or Game Stop....

I'll be comparing photos of this game along with photos of GT4. ANd of course videos and news. Until then, I'll wait till more info is released on Enthusia. It does look very promising.

Well they didn't do a comparison between Enthusia and GT4, but they did a video showing a miata in real life and one in Enthusia doing the exact same thing, trying to promote the emphasise on the realistic physics.

Seen it... I think it was posted in this thread....

Enthusia.....sooofar looks like the most 'correct' driving game since the GT series to head to the PS2. I'll definatelly buy it release day.
