We just watched this movie a couple days ago and thought it was very good. Never read the books but I guess this is a trilogy and I am glad it is. Just wondering if anyone else has seen it yet? Reminded me a lot of Lord of the Rings.

I watched it with valexbird over the weekend. It really needed another hour to flesh the story out. It seemed quite weak and almost like it was half done. Seriously, I'd love this film if it came out on DVD with the missing hour.

Not a bad movie, and a better dragon story than Reign of Fire. Then again, not an exceptional movie. I felt like the movie was targeted to the young teen market. No real depth to the story.

I'll own it on DVD and enjoy it a few times.

Having not read the book and only having seen the trailers it seems like a young teen version of The Dragonriders of Pern series. Am I totally off on this or is this the case?

If it is a story that just haoppens to have a person riding a dragon, but everything else is different, then I will probably go see it but if it is basically a rip off then I won't be bothered.

i havnt seen the movie but i watched the show where they built the bike last night, 2 guys from the movie brought props from the movie to give paul jr. insperation. the chainmail on the exhaust was hand made buy a guy that was also on the show and he said it took over 8000 pieces to do it.

I haven't seen the movie or read the book, but my wife read it, and we talked about it. She said it was decently written (considering the author was 17-18 when he wrote it) but highly derivative. As a long-time (although not rabid) fantasy fan, she could easily spot all the various influences he glued together to make the story.

Haven't had the privilege to see this movie yet. Can anyone tell me if it's on par with Dragonheart??
