Error Code 268!

Tonight i got uncharacteristically disconnected from 3 lobbies ( 2 my own ) mid-race! After third time (reset route, cache etc...) i gave up but messaged a few friends and players met. 3 replied saying they got same error!?
The message said;
"An error has occurred in the lobby server error 268"
Anybody else experience likewise? Hope they get it sorted soon. :scared:

All threads found within the first 3 pages of the main forum, and the Q&A sections. These problems started the same day Photo Stream was launched in Asia, leading some to believe the two are connected. Clearly, something isn't working properly.

Pray to your diety of choice, and wait for the eventual update.

I was 1 of those racers. I managed to get disconnected from PSN never mind just GT5!

Still all seemed normal this morning when I sent cars, paints etc.

Hey me and a lot of my friends have been having many problems but not just on GT5.... There have been many problems since the PSN maintenance a week or two ago.... There has been many occurrences where have the room would lag out and make them sign off line or just get booted out of the room.... Just at random who it happens to.. I have had it happen to me a few times but not so much on GT5 as other games.... And i also play battlefield 3 and my friend was saying people were having problems staying online on PSN while playing BF3 and even being able to finish a round... He thought it might be because of the new server update coming out today for BF3... But it isn't just GT5 it seems to be PSN
 
Wow didn't know it was THAT bad!:nervous: Come to think of it when i was in arcade mode it crashed twice the other day and its never done that before.
Tonight i'm gonna try Stock Road cars, 12 players, mic/disabled only to see if i get same error because sunday i was doin them races and it didn't disconnect.

This keeps happening to me to and i haven't been able to play online for months and i really want to so if anyone knows what it is can u help me fix it??
 
As for the 268 error, do a ps3 system update (even if up to date). It fixed it for me a while back.

Anyone getting this today? I just tried to connect about 5 times and same error in open lobby. Haven't raced online for a while.. but this has never happened.

Yep just started today n its pissing me off.
 
I am having the exact same error 268 starting today, did everything, clear cache, reboot modem. I am hardwired with Cat5, never have this 268 error before. I can't open my lounge or open public lobby ... maybe PD is doing something to the server ???
 
Must be. it can't be an issue with our connections. If same problem happens to three of my friends a few minutes ago and no one of us can't join. And we all live more than 100km apart and have 3 different Internet Service Providers ...

It can't be a local issue...

Yea,my friends couldn't play online too
 
I've got the error too I've checked everything and reset my router and clean my cash and it still doesn't work!
 
PD is doing something behind our back, watch out :D

I keep on trying to get into my lounge, I can only access the member content page, when I click join, it shows error 268 or 282 :( Been doing it for an hour :/ lame
 
I think it's useless to Reboot your modem and such things , i say we just need to wait it out

And look at that "Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread" , the Member's beaten by the Guests :lol:

PD is shutting down the servers ? If many people can't connect to the server, this is the only reason ...

Sorry to sound like a idiot but mine describing PD? i get the error code about 10 maybe 20 minutes after im in the room and then i just shuts down with out warning or any issues. Even if its set to 2 people and theres only me in in, it still shuts down.

Plus why would they shut down the servers for? didnt they just do maintinance on GT 5?
 
I have plenty of other stuff I can do while waiting, so I'm not gonna pointlessly complain. :)

This hasn't happened to me before though; so how long does this normally take to 'end'/fix?

I am just teasing PD, you know, they might have issues with several of their farm servers, not all. Maybe they are shutting down some regional servers, hence not all players around the world having the same error ... Just my wild uneducated guess. The way I see it, if there are numerous instances of the same error occurring to many people from different countries in a short time span, definitely PD's servers are acting up.

Ahh I see. So as usual Gt 5 screws up again? Next update by tommarow I bet.
 
I have this error too...
Tried resetting my modem, clearing network cache, and configuring the ps3's network settings to no avail

Glad it's not just me!

Damn you PD....
