im getting this error when i try to make a thread, post, or edit the post.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/gtplanet/public_html/forum/includes/functions.php on line 1466

hmm, i haven't had any trouble, it could be your internet connection

this thread was created okay:odd:

Perhaps your internet timeout is set too short? Are you on Dial-up or Broadband?

6MB cable. It wont do it on really short posts, just the ones that are a paragraph or bigger. I havent had this issue on any other forums im on.

just tried it again and it doesnt work and makes post number 1 disappear. it comes back after going back tot he subforum then back into the thread.

... What browser are you using?

I'm using IE6, with a 100mbps connection and its working fine.

In fact I think more than 1/4 the forum uses IE6.

Yes, but the Other two bazillion people don't.

This shows the inferiority of IE6.

I used to use IE6 and FF and never had a problem with either one, but now that I have IE7, my connection actualy got faster (from 196.3kbps to 283.9kbps).

How many times have you tried to make a thread?

Are thay all the same thing or are they about different things?

It could be that you are typing something that causes GTP to lig you out. Something like that happened to me when I had pasted a link and hit submit. It just took me to the GTP homepage.

Guys, don't make this into an "get FF!" thread. ~90% of people use IE on the internet, so it should work fine, especially for something simple like this.

On another note, I've had this problem once before with editing a very large post of mine. The first post just dissapeared, but it appeared again when I refreshed.

Might be a bit of a pain, but have you tried posting the very beginning of the list (ie first paragraph so it doesn't dissapear), then editing the rest of the list one by one?

ive gotten it to take about 1/3 of the list then tried to put more in it and it gave the error even if just small increments.

I've had that error when I search on vB.com's forums. I don't understand why it's here when you do that, though...

On average, how fast is GTP to load for you? There might be something along the line slowing it down. Try going to "run" in the start menu, and typing in this:

tracert gtplanet.net

and then pasting the results here.

And IE6 might be the worst thing since Kim Jong Il, but it shouldn't be causing anything like that.

anyone have an idea?

Yes we have reached Version 3.0 of the car wishlist. Due to the original thread and v2.0 getting out of control I made v3.0.
