Well, did another practice run with the Ford GT and I couldn't get the time I had earlier. The best I got was more than 0.5 seconds slower than my previous time. I haven't played for some days, but I think thats nothing compared to my 20 week break :p

Anyway, I've tested the Ford GT in the endurance race with different tire choices. I thing I can say: The GT is MUCH easier to drive on harder tires than the Toyota (not really a surprise since the Toyota is 34 years older). I think I have made a final tire decision for both cars.

1 thing I'm looking forward to: How much time will I lose with the cars if you look at the tires? People who changed their settings will run longer on it's tires than I do now, so it will be no surprise if Earth will smash me with his Ford GT because of the tires.

Did you lost your confidence?

haha I knew I could get a .6 lap just didnt have the patience

T1- 16.641
T2- 32.471
T3- 49.575

SF - 1'06.650

I got sideways coming out of that hideous turn 4, which cost me maybe 2-3 tenths. Had a bad line in turn 6 which cost me 1-2 tenths.

Also after the run I checked my HP and it was 832 instead of 846 so that cost me I dont know how much time. I'll be back ;)

Also did more race testing, the car was great. I'm really confident about the race now :)

Sjenk did you qualify on R5 tires?

R5 are the super soft qualifying tires right? Yeah, I used them for my qualification times, nothing wrong with that I hope?

Nothing wrong at all, I just thought you had kept your car Super Stock lol

It will be a slap in my face if you can outqualify me with a superstock car (except for tires)

lol yeah ;) Yeah, with 'Superstock' I exclude the tires, all other things are default though.

Maybe I'm going to test a setup for the Toyota 7. Not to use it for this series, just to see how much faster I can be with a different setup. But therefore I need to have a setup first :p I have found one, but maybe there are others too.

Oh well, at least the leaderboard doesn't need updating, which means I can't fall any further down it :grumpy: :)

Looks like we've all either hit our ceilings, or not been challenged so off I trot to Laguna to get my R8 back where it's superior German engineering belongs - front row!

you must have missed my post

T1- 16.641
T2- 32.471
T3- 49.575

SF - 1'06.650

That puts both Pescarolo cars in front of the R8 👍

Oh damn. Sorry, that wasn't intentional :p that was hurried reading! That's a bit of a kick in the teeth, the French front row is back! I think I've ran a 1'06.685 or thereabouts recently, but I don't see the need to take splits until I get back up there 👍

I'm running the race in the R8 today, so I might get a good lap in afterwards with all the experience!

Hmm, maybe it's because English isn't my first language :p but there's something I don't understand:

If you have to put down your time after 40 minutes, do you mean that I have to put down something like this:
30 laps completed
23.384 seconds in 31st lap at 40'00.000
or (more likely):
31 laps completed at 40'30.298 (same for other times: 70 laps completed at 1'45.32 is what you need to send right?)

(this is not your exact format, but this is just to show you what I mean. These splits are fake of course, I haven't run the 2 races yet)

2nd question: the starting tires are NOT the tires you have to run the whole race with right? It's a shame if you had 5 minutes left in the race and you must go on Hard-Super Hard or something like that :p

definetely not!! i ran my race today and with 6mins left and in the pits.. i can assure you i did not go back on my RH RH tyres :sly:

I never thought I would calculate so much with GT4  Well, I think I made my final decision and I'm ready to race! :)

Both classes of my info going in... GT-class on the way, Earth. Great fun doing this in the GT-R LM :)

Is it just me, or is the AI grid for this race always the same? :odd:

Oh, and Earth? I'd like to know the exact deadline for the qualification times :sly: I need as much time as I can get! :nervous:

DE

No DE, it's not always the same. I have been in a line up today with the Pontiac, Ford GT, Saleen, Camaro SS and the Shelby series 1, but in an other practice run I saw a Viper, 2 Corvettes etc etc :)

Anyway, I just did the race with the Toyota 7. I had some expectations about this race and I found out that I wasn't too far off. The difference between my total time and my calculated time is just 6(!) seconds in my advantage. I'm going to watch the whole race again in a few minutes, so I can put everything down what I haven't noted down so far.

I also hope Earth will be online soon to answer the first question I had :)

you dont have to run the same tires the whole race

22 laps completed at 40'30.298 (same for other times: 70 laps completed at 1'45.32 is what you need to send right?)

That is correct make sure your lap count is what the lap counter says AFTER the start finish line.

I have to watch the race again because I forgot to record my 40 minute time and i forgot to record my fast lap

Dark Elite the exact deadline for qualifying times is 12:01 am eastern time Tuesday mourning. race reports are due 24 hrs later

Edit: My original post #107 didn't make sense at all

Ok, so which is it:

22 laps completed with 1:45'34.567 done

Or:

I'm in the 23rd lap at 1:45'34.567

? :)

Ok, the list you pm'd and posted here has been filled in. I do not send it yet, since I haven't checked the replay yet, so there can be a mistake in it. I need to fill in the 'race incident' part, since I don't have put everywhere what exactly happened.

Btw, do you need some 'in action' pictures from my race? I don't know how it really was in the race, but as far as I could see it, I almost had a megacrash with the Camaro SS I had to race against. Maybe if I can take a nice picture of that moment I can post it in the Results thread. I'll try to make it 'tomorrow' (1.00 am local time here) and I'll send it to you if it's worth sending ;)

the more information or media you give the better 👍

and you dont need to include every single incident, just the ones you thought were noteworthy. or all if you want

hehe, ok I'll do my best ;) I did cut through the Corkscrew 3 or 4 times in the whole race because I hit the brakes too late, I did not won any time with those moves btw.

I might make a whole race report for the Toyota 7, so you can edit it into your overall race report (or I make a race report for my own race in a separate post).

Edit:
I checked my replay and it stops at 1 hour and a few minutes, so I don't have the full replay. Is that normal? I know that I had the same thing with GT3, but is there a way to get this right for my other race? I was going to make a write up, but I now don't have the information for the last 40-45 minutes.

I still have enough screenshots though :p I would be really interested how many laps I will be behind the other LMP drivers. The differnece in qualification time is 2.617, but what will the results say. I'm really looking forward to this :)

Cheers. I'll probably have the reports in before my final Q-time  I need to take it right to the wire to catch you in your Frenchman's car!

I've got a prepped update for my photo gallery of the GT-R LM, but it's photos from the first lap of the actual race which I sent the time in for, so should I wait until the deadline has passed before posting it up? It's no problem for it to wait.

Dark Elite you can post any media when you want as long as it does not show your time or lap count

Hmm, I really want to know if the replay of the other people here stop as well after one hour.

Anyway: Do we have to PM the qualification time or do you read the qualification times from DE's site?

Sjenk
Hmm, I really want to know if the replay of the other people here stop as well after one hour.

Yes, all replays are about an hour long.

NOTE: If you save your replay after the 1 hour 45 min. mark without completing another lap, the replay save time will show the your final time.

Yep, I know that (your note) :) I finished the last lap of course and I saw my total time in the replay theatre. But thanks for answering my question, I was lucky that I noted down everything during the race, so Earth can still use all the info I have. I'm now completely finished with the Toyota 7 report (Earths' list + own race report). Tomorrow I'll do the race with the Ford GT, but before I do that I have to copy the 10 screenshots I have to my usb device. I will include them in my race report which I'm going to post here.

Cheers! I'll get that update up soon :p

But for now, I'm trying like mad to get back on the front row!!! I shall beat the second Pesco, sorry Earth that happens to be you :) and I hope I can get under Mulsanne's time as well to take back my unpenalised starting spot

Looks like everyone's following my lead and putting up media :) photos of incidents will certainly make for a good race report!

Yeah, my replay is only about an hour long. I have no idea why they did that, it's not as if it won't fit on the card, it's only 250kb! Crazy. Some unfathomable Japanese reason, but who's going to watch it all anyway?

Don't you mean that everyone is following my lead? :p I started talking about it first (if I read everything well :p)

Anyway, I had a question but that has not been answered yet: Do we have to PM our qualification time or is DE's leaderboard enough?

Posting here is enough, I think. Earth can check this to see it matches with my leaderboard if he likes :)

I've got a new time -
T1 - 0'16.556
T2 - 0'32.101
T3 - 0'49.608
SF - 1'06.500

After an incredibly tough 100mile+ practice session, I had about five laps that could beat that, and in fact in that lap there is a massive error, which loses nearly half a second. But I simply cannot run another lap that consistently fast again, so there stands my Q-time.

At least the front row is back to having an R8 on it. I did in fact run a 1'06.588, which astonished me, but I wasn't content to poke Mulsanne with a two-thousandth of a sharp stick so I carried on

If I had one more day I'd be on the pole, but I don't so I'll sit in second. Thank you, and goodnight :dopey:
