Well I'm doing 191mph as I hit the anchors at the first corner... So you're not being held back by the power too much, lucky Laguna's the first race :p

At last, my Audi R8 time is here - On behalf of Champion Racing, I state -
T1 --0'16.683
T2 --0'32.391
T3 --0'49.912
SF --1'07.115

:sly: Not bad. There's some improvement but I think I was having a good day... I'll catch you in your Frog car yet Earth!

DE

Only had time to run 6 laps. I'm hoping to be able to beat the Ford GT LM Spec II, but it's not going to happen, on a perfect lap this could scape into the 1'15s....

Hope I've done this right...

Casio Racing / Casio / Ford GT40 1969
T1 = 19.214
T2 = 37.412
T3 = 57.588
SF = 1'17.483

Well, it's a shame that I don't have any of the modern LMP's due to lack of money and the fact that I haven't done 1 of the endurance races where I can win a modern LMP. I will always have a gap like this. My only hope is that all of your racepaces are worser than mine ;p

I'm wondering how fast I would be if I had a custom setting, but I never change settings on a car, so I lack experience in this ;) I also can't find settings anywhere to test it once :/

Well, I see I have to train with the Ford GT again ;p

Edit:

Earth
New Ford GT LM Spec II time

T1 18.970
T2 36.564
T3 55.422

S/F 1'14.163

Muhuhu ;p :

Ford Racing / Sjenk / Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II #59
T1: 18.673 ; T2: 36.105 ; T3: 55.136 ; SF: 1'14'120

Difference with your T times:
T1: 0.297 ; T2: 0.459 ; T3: 0.286 ; SF: 0.043

I indeed screwed my last sector, but your time between T2 and T3 is very good! :) Can't get near that sector time.

Anyway, my T1 was not good at all, I was able to get 0.200 faster there in one run. I'm happy about T2, that part went fantastic in the run, T3 is also reasonably good for me, but in the last sector I can win at least 0.300, because I went a bit wide there. I'm sure that I'll get a 1'13.xxx today or tomorrow.

Leaderboard updated again... I seem to have managed to scroll through ten posts :ouch: oh well.

Well done everyone on your times.

Edit: Most interesting part of the lap is Rainey Curve (left hand corner after the Corkscrew). I just touch the brakes and the car snaps sideways, so I drift through the corner, clipping the apex with the left front wheel. D1GP meets ALMS. Any ideas on how to fix this? I rather not have to do 1h45m of that
Oh, my R8 does that! I can drive it so that it doesn't, but I'd much rather have 1hr 45 minutes of it instead of taking it safe :D I've only messed it up once doing that. So much fun if you get it right, and in the replays it makes me look so good :lol:

I think a 1'13.5 is vaguely possible in the GT-R, but it really is pushing to the limit. I'll see! I intend to run the GT-R this weekend and the R8 next weekend.

Traffic will most probably be the most important factor here! I've started doing five laps, seeing how long it took and doing another five and trying to improve, but backmarkers are the real problem here.

Hi all!

I couldn´t stay away from this little battle for positions on the grid. I´ve noticed some nice close racing in the LMP class. Real fun to see that 4 cars do almost the same time!

I´ve improved the time in the Ford by about one sec.

Time:

Gulf / JMS RACING / #14 GT40, 1969
S1= 0'19.343
S2= 0'38.074
S3= 0'58.511

SF = 1'18.534

Yeah, right now it's not that you 'want' it, you must do it :p :

Ford Racing / Sjenk / Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II #59
T1: 18.462 ; T2: 35.905 ; T3: 54.832 ; SF: 1'13.674

Difference with my old T-times:
T1: -0.211 ; T2: -0.200 ; T3: -0.304 ; SF: -0.446

Difference with Dark Elite's time:
T1: +0.014 ; T2: -0.189 ; T3: -0.243 ; SF: -0.187

(yeah, I like to compare things (and show them :p))

Now I will drive with the Toyota 7, I'm sure I can improve my fastest time so far.

Man, i can't beat the 1'15'xxx with the Zonda LM... how do you guys do it! lol
I'm sure i can better adjust my car, i just don't know how grrr ..

Did you sign up for this series or do you just want to set good times at Laguna Seca? (I can't see that you have signed in for the ESES, so I'm just wondering ;))

IforceV8, thanks for the advice. Just about to try it and see if I can get that extra half-second I need. :)

LMP: Four drivers covered by just over a half-second. This is gonna be good. (Rubs hands in anticipation....)

no, i haven't signed up yet. The thing is, i don't think i even qualifie to sign up ;)

Do i have to do something specific to join up or i can just sign up? I'd go with the Zonda LM or the Ford GT LM.

i dont understand why so many people are submitting times already, and we have a week to go!! Im doing my first laps in the #16 Pescy now.... update in 30mins.

Sjenk
Yeah, right now it's not that you 'want' it, you must do it
Hey! Now I've got to qualify some more in it! Well, I intended to run the race in the GT-R today because I have to to get both done, but that does not stop me qualifying some more after I've actually ran the race, so long as I don't submit anything! :p So all my hard tyre preperation need not go out the window yet... But I will catch you! Yes, please do go and drive your Seven :lol: I can beat you when you're in that!

The LMP class looks to be the hottest there ever was! ! !
Nobody knows better than me how close we are, because every time we get closer I can't miss it :) this is such good competition!

DE

yeah, in the next LMP championship I must get a modern LMP car, because I'm sure if I can get less than 2 seconds from pole in the Toyota 7, I can be in the top five (or top 4, since there are 4 modern LMP timessubmitted at the moment) with any LMP car.

Anyway, I might give up trying to get faster with the Toyota 7. I think it's possible to do a 1'08.4xx lap, but I doubt it that I can improve more than that. I am now and I will stay last in the LMP class, so qualifying is kinda pointless. I might give it another shot to see if I really can do a 1'08.xxx or even a better time, but it is not needed anymore.

I tested the Toyota 7 in race pace yesterday. Am I allowed to ask hoe many seconds all of your race lap times are slower compared to your qualification lap time? I don't say what my times are until I get approval for it. Maybe I get disqualified if I do that if it's not allowed to ask it :p

Lower than 1'17...thats all your going to get from me :sly:

Thanks alot for making my life miserable ls2_297! :dopey:

With such a good lap I dont know if I even want to try to top it

But at least you are Pescarolo Sport! Send me your setup

It would be a nice opening statement for Pescarolo sport to sweep the front row!

Hmm, so I must guess which tires you use :p Well, I'm still thinking which tires I will use, I even made a comparison in word. I'm going to try some runs again today and see if my expectations are still correct. If this race is over, I really want to see how much laps you guys can do with the chosen tires :) I would love it to hear it now, but noone will do that :p

Edit: omg ls2_297, now I must improve my Toyota 7 lap. I want to be less than 2 seconds behind you :p

Tuned some more on the car this morning...

T1: 19.237
T2: 37.860
T3: 57.670
Total: 1.17.678

Earth! Lower than 1'17! I wa- oh yeah, that was in the GT-R... Hah I'm nearly as fast as you in my GT-R's race trim. Then again you might be running 1'10s :lol:

ls2_297, thats a very nice result for half an hour :p now I'm running third! I can't stand for that!

You wish... That would be the day, I vow to be on that first row!

Time for some improvement, I think...

*Jumps into Audi R8 and blasts off over the Corkscrew, leaving GT-R with pit crew for later*

Hmm, I'm getting scared now :p I see I have to practice a bit more to get faster lap times in the race. I can get lower than 1'17.xxx in the Toyota 7 in the race, but if people are driving with 1'10.xxx on average, I'm in big trouble :p

:lol: So am I! There's no way I can run 1'10s in racing trim! Then again, I've not tried to :trouble:

However I have tried a little harder in qualifying, with these results -
Champion Racing / Dark Elite / Audi R8, with superior German engineering, Earth!
T1=0'16.746; T2=0'32.471; T3=0'49.895; SF=1'06.793

Skyline Squadron / Dark Elite / GT-R LM Concept
T1=0'18.357; T2=0'35.675; T3=0'54.452; SF=1'13.126

:sly: There's always some room for improvement, and this is no exception.. I could get 1'06.5 in the R8 and maybe a 1'12.XXX in the GT-R.

DE

righteo... im giving it another 30mins... there is no way there is going to be an Audi R8 on pole. Never been one to like the french but theres a first for everything!!! Prepare to fall to P2!

Ooh fighting talk ls2, let's hope you can back it up with performance out there on the track! Earth, it looks like you're going to have to beat your old time, like it or not, because your French front row just went south :p

German engineering, Irish driving, boys.

wow, the GT-R time is really fast :/ Hmm, I can't play right now, but I'll try beating it tonight, although it will be very hard.

Btw Dark Elite, the Privateer class isn't 'classified', why is that? There are 2 GT40's in that class, so why wouldn't there be 'positions' like in the LMP and GT class?

Cheers Sjenk.. It took some effort to knock a full half second off your time, but in the end it just happened! Going through the logs of that session... crap, crap, crap, worse!, crap, slightly better, crap, pole position by over half a second! Woohoo!

A true hotlap :sly: I hope you don't beat it! :p

About the Privateer class, that's a good point. I'll classify all people that are in the same cars, but with a lot of privateer cars it could get confusing. Maybe there won't be many though, so I'll classify it. Thanks for the heads-up.

No points for pole position in it yet though, that's up to Earth. It could mean a lot of sets of 5 points being dealt out.

DE

i blew a t3 of 48.958 on the last corner of the track... URGHHH, way to frustrated to continue tonight... mind you still have 7 days to get in a time. Im predicting a pole time of a 1'05.9xx.

Aw, that's a horrible shame! That's why there's some improvement in my times, on the last corner I tend to brake terribly, far far too early, scared for my quick time :guilty: perhaps if I was level with my old time, I'd push harder and gain a few tenths.

If a French Pesky gets a 1'05.9, I'll probably just give up! There's almost no way I can do that... Then again, I didn't think I could get under 1'07 in the R8, so never say never! :p

Get back out on that track and try to catch me 👍

DE

I'm really looking forward to the end of these 2 weeks, getting more excited every day :p The difference in the LMP class is so minimal, the race will tell us who is driving on safe mode and who is driving as hard as he can. The GT class will be exciting as well (at least more for me, because I have a chance in there :p).

If there will be a ESES2 (or something comparable), I will first collect money to buy a true LMP, that's for sure! :p

I agree, this is getting seriously good... The qualifying match is getting hotter every day, and I'm spending most of my free time in the Real Circuit Tours getting used to hard tyres on the R8... It's gonna be one helluva race in the LMP class. It will certainly show us who's got the most balls, and the control to match, because pushing too hard at Laguna really doesn't help you! Should be great fun though.

The GT class is a much more controllable breed of car, so that should show who knows the track more than who's got control.

If there isn't an ESES2, I'll drown Earth in PMs to organise another one :lol:

Failing that, there'll be a DESES :D

DE

Just when I was getting depressed I realized if I am improve my time by .250, I'm on the pole

Time to give this another shot...For Pescarolo, country, and glory

edit: Things seem to be going fine so far in ESES LMP+GT, and at the moment there will be another ESES backed championship, but what cars or tracks we will use is not finalized.
